Is Norinco ammo safe?

I've been reading mixed reviews, some say the quality is so so, others say that since american ammo has gone downhill in quality that it's probably now equivalent to the chinese stuff. Will norinco .223 ammo have early wear on my barrel? Is it safe to store for many years? I'm new to the gun hobby but I am looking at getting a crate of .223 and using it on a Tavor and possibly whatever else I buy in the future. I don't want to have the ammo just explode in my basement either lol , if that's even possible.
 
I've shot more Chinese ammo than any other country of origin. I've found it to be three things:

1. Filthy
2. Stupidly reliable - I've never had a malfunction in thousands of rounds of Chinese 7.62x39
3. Accurate enough provided you're not expecting match performance

Shoot away.
 
I literally f:P: when I read the title of the post. Then I read the actual post and discovered just how justified it really was.
 
I bought a crate of 762x51 1992 non corrosive norc ammo and its all firing fine but! Their is some cases that have the neck splitted or cracked but I shot around 5k rounds 762x39 in my old sks and never had that problem their were the corrosive ones don't know if that makes a difference. My rounds seems to crack at a 5% rate but they get down to the target and I can't see or hear or feel the differnece I only know if they crack when I pick up the casings. My advice go ahead and shoot all you can.
 
Split case mouths are not a safety issue, that's how I know my brass is worn out. Out of 1000 rds of Norinco .45 I had 11 split case mouths.
