I had a quick look on the forum and couldn't find any info, reviews and/or comments from owners of H&Ks who have the Match Trigger in the pistol.

Granted the search function of the board isn't the greatest, but I'm sure some of you have some trigger time behind one (?).

I don't think I've ever seen that subject discussed around here. IMO you should research a specialized forum like hkpro.

I found the match trigger made a difference on my USP, but not a big enough difference to justify the price. I did have a lot of trigger time with both regular and match triggers.

Tks for the info.

I haven't seen the price difference in new pistols as, well, I've never found one with the Match trigger in it, only on the used marked. Though you mention that there isn't a big difference, was at the break crisper? How about the reset in DA?

It's been a while since I did this mod or shot my USP 45. IIRC the match trigger greatly improved the break but made no difference to the reset. It is a replacement hammer, trigger and sear I believe. The trigger has an over-travel adjustment too.

I have an HK Custom Sport in .45 acp. It has the match trigger. I really like that trigger. That gun shoots amazing groups at 25 yds. I attribute that largely to the trigger. I also have an HK USP in .40 cal. It, too, is an accurate gun but, for me, the trigger feels terrible after shooting the CS. So much so that I have ordered a match trigger kit from Wolverine for the .40 cal. It is worth it to me. There are lots of videos available on how to do the instal. Or you could have a gunsmith do it.

The biggest advantage that I find with the match trigger setup on the USP is the trigger break. The standard hammer, when cocked, has a very slight bit of travel just before it breaks to strike the firing pin. With the match hammer, there is none...just a nice, crisp release. If you have a stock USP, you will be able to see what I mean...#### the hammer, and slowly apply pressure to the trigger without actually making the hammer fall...kind of like a light, pulsating pressure on the trigger...you will be able to see the very slight movement of the hammer just before it breaks. That is what is eliminated with the match hammer, which for me, makes a HUGE difference.

I'm not really a big fan of very light trigger pulls, so I retained the factory hammer spring and trigger return spring. I do like a smooth pull, so I did install the nickel plated sear spring...helped out a bit, but not as much as I thought it would.

The over-travel adjustment on the trigger, or trigger stop as it may be known, does add that extra bit of "crisp". It works really well to eliminate that bit of sponginess after firing, and just gives the the trigger a much tighter, more positive feel.

Just my 2 cents...

What's wrong with the stock trigger?

The stock trigger on the USP and the P30 (this one was an L, not that it matters) in v3 that I shot wasn't the best. Acceptable? Sure. Can it be improved? I would definitely think so.

And why do you want a match trigger on a combat pistol?

The platform might be one of a combat pistol, but a) I won't be taking it in service and b) the definition of "match trigger" isn't perhaps the best. From what I was able find (and from the input here thus far) the DA pull isn't 1.5lbs.

But, and perhaps more importantly, because I would want too. No need for a "why" ;)

How much was the kit, if you don't mind me asking?

There is one (HK CS in 9mm) in the EE that did caught my attention and prompted me in opening the discussion here..

In my personal experience, the HK match triggers are a very noticeable improvement over the stock HK triggers... but I feel like this isn't saying much considering what the stock HK triggers are like and they are still not as nice as other triggers.

It is $163.00 with taxes and shipping. There is a long wait however to get one. They have some on the HK website after a 6 month wait but they were going fast. Don't know if any are left.

Great input Sambaru

re stock trigger: I understand the intent that HK has with that trigger (safety x 5 [* overkill]), but still...I agree, it's not saying much of it as it should come like that stock and not as an upgrade.

ive owned a USP match and sold it like an idiot, the trigger was a smexy lil thang, had the stop adjustment that allowed to tune right to the break point,
