10-22 auto bolt open

Is there a mod for the 10-22 that has a auto bolt hold open, after the last round is fired ? I hate losing count and hearing " Click "

If you are concerned whether the dry fire hurts the firing pin, it does not. The 10-22 has a protection for that. However, I would like to do the same thing with my 10-22. I would also like to modify the bolt catch so that I can release the bolt without pressing the bolt release, when a filled magazine is in the gun.

Wanstalls sells the tactical innovations auto bolt release plus other neat add ons for the 10/22. Just added it and the others mods last week to one of mine... Works nice now.

The "Dry Fire" was what bothered me, But if there is no harm done, All is good. I'll just feed it.

Then just mod your existing part. @ minutes with a dremal tool and done. Lots and lots of info online about it

I did do that. When I looked for the part, at one place it was $10 with $15 shipping. Did it myself instead.

Thanks, that is what I was looking for, but I don't like the fact you have to use their magazine or some safety/damage issues come into play. I'll just keep counting.

CST has a newer version out that apparently works with unmodded magazines. Don't know where to buy it though.

I think they ment you can only use the 10 round rotary mags, including the Ruger factory ones. I think you just cant use the 25 rounders.

The first gen hold open kit needs moded mags. The second gen one does not and they say it works with Ruger BX-25 mags.
