ive been having a ongoing issue with my somewhat franken AR that i built.
its a NEA 10.5" barrel, Areo precision upper and lower, DPMS LPK, Spikes heavy 2 buffer, NEA gas block, no clue what gas tube..it was given to me...but really its a tube, and a NEA f/a BCG...and various other parts that dont really affect this.

**this BCG does not bend the retaining pin when used in my other rifle, so the bcg is not the issue.** exit NEA bashers... thanks. LoL

so when i fire off about 2-300 rounds and get home the retaining pin for the firing pin is severely bent, last time it was more bent than before so i havent shot it since, i usually straighen it out and mean to sort it out but end up at the range again.. now it wont be shot till i try something to resolve the issue.
im fairly sure its still over gassed which is why i threw in the spikes heavy 2 (which is smooth shooting and awesome.. threw one in my other rifle too) and im still ejecting at about 2 o'clock.

ive read about a "perma pin" that i can put in, sure it wont bend but thats not fixing the issue. so should i throw on a adjustable low pro gas block? and if so what brand is good but not overpriced and where can i find one in stock (links to the item appreciated.)

pics of the parts, because i know some combos of bcg and the hammer cause issues, but i read another thread and it looked like i have the right match.

Ya I read that thread a while back but my setup seems to match what they suggest.
M16 f/a bcg
M16 firing pin
round hammer. .no notch

Cant help the problem but I wouldn't trust a once bent retaining pin with anything other than plinking

Ill remember to use my other rifle on all my save the world zombie missions untill I get it sorted out.

Good idea, it could also read as not being suitable for use in competition.

But Zombies are just as common.

...or with high intensity shooting courses. Guns go down from all kinds of things on those.

Is there supposed to be a picture of the FPRP that is bent or am I missing something? All I see is a hammer and BCG....

i dunno, prefer to just save the world from zombies whenever i get a chance.
feel free to join me sometime, i think next thursday i have a opening on my team...its a great time, just dont wear white pants, zombie slime stains white pants....i found that out the hard way...

i already bent it back about a week ago... should have taken a pic but it was in the shape of a "C" just holding on.. 1 more shot and it would have popped right out i think

This issue has come up with an NEA BCG before. It's a cheap part, contact them and ask them to send you a new one or buy one yourself and move on.

A good explanation on posts 1 and 2...

ahh ok he says its a soft pin, so with my 10.5 being overgassed it hits it harder (maybe) but with my 12.5 being gassed properly it wont bend.
so solution is a better pin?

i already contacted CTCS to see if they can get me the perma pin, i know they carry the brand because my anti rotation trigger pins are by the same company that makes them.. i forget what it is off hand.
i dont care about buying a new pin myself, i assumed it was a different issue because its a franken build thats overgassed.
