CZ-858 Recoil reducing stock = bad news. +video

Not enough momentum left in the bolt to finish pushing the next round into the chamber. The only way to counter it was to hold my rifle tight against my shoulder and depress the stock spring thus cancelling the reduction.

Doesn't quite sound right... Sounds more like your return spring is weak or your chamber is really dirty and rounds not going in very well. A spring in your stock should have no bearing on it.

I have talked to 2 different people that have had the same issue after installing one of the recoil reducing stocks. They swapped back to a non spring loaded system and the troubles stopped. I do know a few guys that use them and have no issues as well.

I wish I had some guys like major to shoot with here. Where I shoot it's all hunters sighting in their rifles and when I roll up in my tac vest and I'm blasting off a few hundred rounds they all think I'm nuts. But meh, lots of people think I'm nuts, including me

Interesting!

Alright next time I'm out in Winnipeg I will bring my gear and we will show those hunters up.

That is because of the striker fire design of this rifle and the "gimmick" of this recoil stock it can lead to issue's.
Now please don't bash FAB because they do not test for Canadian dummy versions.
With the real deal rifle and this stock malfunctions are not there due to the fact no one farted around with there trigger assembly.

I am going to try the stock out again after a full cleaning and lubing if it still short strokes, then I am going to pin the stock. However I am not sure if I should compress the stock then pin it or pin it before compression.

Cool vid! Looks like you had a lot of fun. I must ask though, and please don't take offence. I never understood why people operate the charging handle on a VZ58 like its a AK. Every vid I see of a CGN member shooting a VZ is reaching way underneath it to release the bolt. I'll admit, it feels cool to do, and I've done it myself. But now I just reach over the top, it's a fair bit quicker and easier.

Having never actually handled an AK, or even really taking notice how others do, I just picked up my CZ and started operating it that way. If you watch carefully on the footage that has the camera on my wrist you see me start to go under the rifle to operate it, but I force my self to "correct", and go over the top.

I didn't know nutnfancy posted on CGN

hey. HEY.

I thought I was the Nutnfancy of CGN? ;)

Major, depending on your length of pull I'd pin the stock in rather than out. You'll still be able to adjust you're collapsible, but unless you really need that extra inch I feel like it would be stronger in the in position.

Also, Im pretty sure I go under because Avocado impressed the #### out of me running his vz58.

Over/Under Meh what ever works best you, everyone is diffrent.

With our dumb laws it is faster to load by stripper clips than to do a full mag change, but not as fun!

Major you should do a tactical drive by on targets with the golf cart. Or just some emergency response drills rolling up hard in the cart and jumping out taking those pesky targets down.

With an ATV, Golf cart would be way better.

i think it all depends. you're already handling the magazine from the bottom, it seems like a pretty fluid motion to just continue to reach underneath and rack a round. (not that i've fired a CZ or AK...)

Lol! Love the expletives. I reached a similar level of frustration a few weeks ago with a busted USGI magazine:

..

Have to admit it bud...I just 'bout sprayed beer all over the keyboard at 00:40 when the rounds went flying !! Laugh2
However..sh*t happens to all of us.
Eg: I should check the red dot BEFORE shooting...

Oh and "over the top" is my preferred way ...but each to their own.

I would, however we have goofy laws here in Canada Remember. So the only way I could do it within the lines of the law would to have an unloaded rifle while driving, jump off, and load up. ;)

And I found a way to fix my over or under hand bolt manipulation issue. I just ordered a tactical bolt release.
