When do we find out required ammo count?

A wild guess would be 100 each of rifle/pistol/birdshot with a handfull of buckshot and slugs...
An exact count will be posted as soon as stages are set.
Keep in mind though... The published round count will be for a perfect/clean run with no misses or extra shots taken...
It will give you a base line from where you can decide how many rounds you will want to have available.
We will be using the IMA scoring method that we have posted in the TH3G rules...

Also... For those needed comply with conditions of the *new* LTATT...
We will provide official written invitation upon request to teamhoser@cogeco.ca

Team Hoser would like to announce that HAMILTON TACTICAL is once again supporting the Team Hoser 3-Gun Challenge.

They have entered a team of shooters and will be present at the range on match day with some of the merchandise they carry.

Please support them as they support us.

Round count for the match is published on the updates page

Keep in mind that the published numbers reflect the count of a completely clean shoot. (targets "can" be nuetralized with one shot.)

Shooters should at least double up on the ammo they bring.

Not complaining..Just have a question about one rule:

"Unless the handgun is the first firearm employed in a course of fire it will be holstered/staged with a magazine inserted and it's chamber empty. "

Is this new? I don't recall it from previous events

'Not completely new. I think we've done it on occasion in the past for pistol. I know this has been the start cond. for rifles/shotguns in our mathces.

It's a total rip-off copy-cat of how they run things are all the major 3-Gun matches we attend in the USA.
It's purely a mitigation of the potential safety concern(s) related to having a competitor "lose" his/her handgun during the CoF.
ie... the pistol falls out of the holster.

So.. What it means is yes, when you draw you're gonna hafta rack the slide, but so does everyone else.
It also means that "if" your handgun falls outta yer holster... There is ZERO chance of a discharge.

Oh... You'll still get DQ'd for dropping your gun, but... You didn't have to worry about having that gun go off when it hit the ground.

It's extreemly unlikely a dropped pistol will indeed discharge, but... 'Anything is possible

But what if the gun bounces out of my holster, the rear sight hooks onto one of my love-handles and gravity racks the slide, and then a passing fly happens to rub against my 8oz trigger as the gun is falling, thus discharging the firearm???
Hmmm?

Not as unlikely as you originally thought, eh?

:)

We thought of that too...

First round stripped outta the magazine must be a snap cap.

A reminder to all registered shooters that as per the original match announcement the TH3GC is rain or shine event.

It has been mentioned a number of times already, but just in case everyone isn’t yet aware…
Steel core/armor piercing ammunition is prohibited for this match.

Lunch (burgers, hot dogs, pop) will be available at the club house for a nominal fee. ($5.00).

If anyone needs a written match invitation in order to comply with the conditions of their ATT... 'Drop a note to teamhoser@cogeco.ca and we'll fire one out to you.

Will there be Dairy Queen/DQ gift cards available at the match?

I just put my new Geissele S3G trigger in. Not sure that was such a good plan 3 days before the match.
