Tavor vs xcr.

K I know people have there opinions. That's what I want. I thought I was decided on xcr but everyone keeps telling me if I get over the bullpup design the tavor a far more accurate, and quality.

I'm literally going to be at gun shop in two hours. I will end this thread with a pic. Please give me a last minute vote and why. I don't think I can go wrote with either. But I just want black rifle experts opinion as this will be my fīrst black rifle.
 
Thats a smart ass answer. Really the answer is: Hold both, see how they feel to you.

There are some people who feel squished shooting a Tavor. There are some people who feel like a construction crane when pointing an XCR.

We can tell you what was right for us, but we can't tell you what's right for you.

Things to try in the store:

1. pull the trigger

2. try a reload

3. work the charging handle

4. go from high/low ready to pointing

5. basic take down

6. over the beach test? ;)

What type of shooting do you expect to be doing? Off hand the Tavor is hard to beat. Benched however the XCR will be nicer to shoot. Also check each one out and see which one you like. Also remember it might be one or the otherright now but eventually it will probably end up that both rifles are in your safe.
 
Have an XCR right now, would like a Tavor someday if the budget allows. Here's my thoughts:

Tacticool/Run and Gun/CQB type of stuff: Tavor

Bench/Prone+bipod/Hunting: XCR

I would probably give a slight reliability nod to the Tavor (I don't own one just based on what I've seen/read) I have heard of small parts breaking on both, but rarely a major problem with either.

I personally think you're choosing between the two best non restricted black rifle options out there right now, and you'll almost certainly be happy with whichever you choose.
 
That's a good point. Realistically I'm not gonna dress up like Rambo and pretend to be on any missions on the farm. Ill realistically shoot from prone, bench and standing at paper, potatoes, cans and other various targets.

I think the tavor is pretty much impossible to shoot prone? Or at least very uncomfortably.

Great points .. Yea if you plan on mounting a scope and doing bench rest or long range shooting for accuracy or any kind of varmint hunting go with the XCR .. The Tavor is the better rifle when shooting in a standing position and handles better for sure when running about in drills .. all comes down to what kind of shooting you want to do most ..

Prone is no problem!

 
I've owned and shot both lots
Reliabilty goes to tavor, mind you my xcr is 100 pecent after some tweeks
accuracy goes to xcr, my tavor shot 7moa average with a bunch of diffeent factoy stuff and tailored handloads, maybe i got a lemon??
Ergonomics goes to XCR, I'm a bit biased because my years in the mob using the c7, new shooters won't notice a difference in ergos
Modular goes to the XCR, grips, stocks, barrels and calibres all interchangable, tavor has a 9mm kit yet to be seen in canada, and you cant swap stocks, grips, adjust LOP
Operation goes to xcr, my tavor felt gritty and require more effort to cycle the action
I say if you have been shooting AR or C7s go with the XCR, if you are new to black rifles the tavor might work good for you, for me it was hard relearning years of muscle memory from using the c7, with work it could be done, but meh and YMMV

You said in another thread you're experienced in precision style bolt actions, both these guns will be a bit of a joke compared to those for accuracy and precision. If the lop of the tavor fits you, get that. If not get the xcr.
 
Hey boys. Xcr it is. Black and 223. Bought the 6.8 conversion as well. Driving home now. Pics coming later tonight. Super excited.

My deciding factor was very easy when I arrived in store. I'm 6'4 and have long arms like a ape. I'm pretty sure Israeli military would kick me out lol cause I felt like I was holding a baby gun while someone was giving me a bear hug holding the tavor. So minus all pros and cons between rifles I couldn't see myself ever getting used to that gun.

Thanks for the help on the 100 threads I opened. Sorry tavor guys but I guess Israelis don't grow a tall as I have lol

Congrats you are going to love it!!
The XCR feels like a real gun whereas the tavor feels plasticy and un natural, good luck!!
 
how many people are and where having issues with the xcr and how many with the tavor...
i spent the extra 500 and got the proven rifle
