Questar LAR 15 mag...should I cancel the order?

When i try to reload with 10 rounds or even 9 or 8 the magazine does not seat or 'lock in' with a closed bolt. I've heard that I should shave down the follower? And also remove material from the top where the bullet tip is seated before entering chamber as it may rub against the wall. Any other suggestions or cause for malfunction?

^^^Depends if you get the plastic or aluminum ones.

Even when using the aluminum coupler dropping a coupled LAR-15 magazine pretty much guarantees messed up feed lips. Coupler may not break but the lower mag is buggered.

Beyond that using the coupled mag as a rest at prone (more common than some may think) is a good way to get debris into the internals.

That AT-15 pistol mag looks great, can't wait to see how they perform over time :D. Good job Rick.

I bought ten of the RRA LAR-15 mags and they all jam on my MR1. Constantly. I've been playing around with different combinations of filing/grinding/sanding/etc and nothing has worked so far. Highly disappointed.

CAA 10 Round pistol mags

I have been very frustrated with the Questar LAR mags. Even after several rounds of modifications and replacement parts, they do not work with 10 rounds.
Reading this thread I decided to order 2 of the CAA mags from ATR. So far I am impressed. I have not shot them yet, but they seem to work as they should when cycling dummy rounds. Here are a couple of pics:

In the second pic the rifle is standing up and being supported by the mag. It has a square flat base. I really like the length of the mag and that there is no pin.

I've picked up a couple from Questar a few weeks back, 3000+ rounds through my acr without fail using norinco ammo.
What I'd like to find is something like the old c products tactipul.

Ran the CAA mags thru a Tactical rifle course they worked flawlessly. Easily seated on a closed bolt. They work well with standard Mag pouches and chest rigs too.

I do have 10 of the RRA LAR pistol mags they too work fine in all my AR's and even my Tavor..

Are you talking about the ATR CAA 10/20 mag or the 5/30 and 5/20 CAA mags?

I picked up four of the ATRS 10 rounders a couple weeks ago for my tavor and they've been flawless. A world better than crap LAR mags.
