Moose Sighting !!

A few weeks back, some family members and I went to our moose camp in the Muskoka's for some ATV riding and tree stand building, getting ready for the 2013 hunting season.
We were down near this pond, just checking out a new beaver dam, and chopping up some downed trees over the ATV trail, when these two in the picture decide to go for a swim !! We were down wind to them, and making lots of noise, but they did not seem to care. We sat in the grass on the shore, and watched them for about 15 minutes. No zoom on the camera was used. Awesome experience !!

Nice pics! I ran into a cow with two calves a few weeks ago as well. I was out with the wife on some logging trails. I snapped a few pics on my phone and camera plus a nice video from about 10yards. I have this one on my phone, it only shows one calf though.

Those pics have yummy written all over them. Moose calf is some of the best wild meat going.

On the way back from Pickle lake last weekend we saw four.
One was a big bull, I was surprised to see how much antler he had already.
Sticking out way past his ears and some pretty big big fronts.

There was one last night in the swamp between Raymond and bracebridge (muskoka) and then this morning I saw one on the side of the road dead on the way out to port carling. Must have got hit then they tucked it up the shoulder of the road.
