Swiss Arms rifles being examined for reclassification?

Lmao could you imagine if every SAN owner did that! #### in a bag, put said rifle in the bag, put the bag and rifle in rebar cage and then cement it. Everyone goes and drops it off on the parliament building steps. They'd have a couple thousand blocks of ####ty guns to deal with.

The way i see it is that inadvertently the rcmp might be helping our cause of reforming Canadian gun laws if they reclassify. If the swiss arm rifle has been sold in canada for 12 years and lets say there is roughly 500 of them in civillian hands, it will prove to anyone that we are not converting these rifles as the rcmp says we are capable of doing.

Also if they reclassify the swiss arms, 858's and the shorty shotguns as farmboy has mentioned it will prove the rcmp is incompatent. It will also prove how little these named firearms have been used in crimes.

It is possible i think that if the some of the 858's and swiss arms are actually converted autos the RCMP will sit back and do nothing as it will be a huge sheit storm landing in the rcmp's lap. In this case it will be better to bury their heads in the sand then to go public with what they know.

How could they reclassify shorty shotguns? and to what? That would require a rewrite of the relevant FA section, as they currently comply with OAL/barrel requirements, or am I missing something?

Until any of this becomes official in some sort of fashion, I don't see any point to these threads.

lol

Those are some expensive ####-block-guns.

Everybody should be writing letters and calling their MP; This re-classification bull#### needs to stop.

They tried this a few years ago with the Ruger Mini-14 and were buried in letters from pissed off gun owners.

I just left a message for my MP and will CC her on my letter to the minister.

Easy, classified prohib by reinterpreting the FA, and enforcing it as if it was law - then wait for the court case, then appeal the decision, then appeal the decision, then appeal the decision, then tell the owners the firearms were destroyed, and a letter of apology.

With the end of the LGR, it is possible that the RCMP may be dusting off their "hit list" of now uncontrolled non-restricted "problem" black guns and taking aim at them, one by one. If that is the case for the Swiss Arms here, then the time has come for a full offensive against the RCMP, the Public Safety Dept., and the Harper government. Whether through malice or simple disinterest, the powers that be need to learn they cannot continue to pi$$ all over Canada's law-abiding gun owners and expect us to buy the lie its raining!

My real fear, not being a PE-90 owner, is that when confiscated firearms aren't turned in in the expected numbers, pro-registry types will claim justification for resurrection of the LGR. This Swissarms thing is every gun owners problem, make no mistake.

They argued that the LGR didn't have very good compliance, what kind if compliance do you think they'd get a second time around. I'd love to get a non restricted Swiss Arms.

The re-classification and confiscation is the very reason why we wanted to get rid of the registry. The antis always sold it as not being about confiscation, obviously, that is a lie.

I agree that it affects us all, but I'll not commit to winning only one way. I donate to pro-gun organizations, I personally promote gun ownership and shooting activities, and I seek to undermine all forms of gun control.

Drive... WTF

They can Pick Them UP. I won;t deliver it. Come and get it.

They can send a dozen officers across the country traveling for months trying to find all these.

maybe have them just pick up random cement blocks...LOL
