JR Carbine questions

Mine (.45) was horrible the first couple of hundred rounds. It seems to have smoothed out quite a bit now. It's the gen II with the buffer tube extension, new style magwell, and heavier buffer installed from the factory. I also did the Glock mag spring mod (explained in the JRC website), and that seems to have helped reduce the number of last rounds that flip up and get jammed significantly.

I'm hoping that as I put more rounds down the pipe, that it will smooth out even more.

Another annoying thing for me is that the Glock mags "swell" when you load it up to full capacity. With ten rounds in there, the mag is very tight in the magwell...to the point where you can see plastic filings when you remove the mag. Don't even bother with the KCI long mags...they look ridiculous and don't feed at all (weak spring).
 
Mine in 9mm works great. Put about 1500 factory rou ds through it and am now trying out several different hand loads for it. Hoping to make it cheaper to shoot. So far so good. Love it. Just hate the price of the mags.

Heres my setup on my jr carbine in 9 mil
xps3 with g23 mag
surefire laser and light
and I think thats a magpul handle but i forget.

Going to shoot it for the first time tomorrow at the range.

I bought my Glock mags from JR carbines directly. They come modified to work properly in the JR in .45. Other than the swelling mentioned when you put in 10 rounds, the mags work great. However that isn't really a JR issue. Also, there is a free upgrade for anyone who has the older .45 JR model. I have upgraded two .45 carbines and they now work like the 9mm does. Very accurate rifles and a blast to shoot.
 
Ok so I just got back from the range firing that carbine for the first time.
It's a really fun lilttle gun, I fired 300 rounds. i had no failure to feeds and no failure to ejects.
2 big problems though.
1: Bolt really needs to be locked down open before putting a magazine in, otherwise magazine tends not to insert properly

2: This bolt needs a whole lot of oil. You need to oil it like you've never oiled a bolt before. If you think you're putting in too much oil, actually put double that amount. Otherwise you wont be able to push the bolt open to put in a magazine. This happened after about 100 rounds. I think its due to the metal of the bolt expanding being exposed to the heat and thus it becomes tighter, because the bolt rocks fine when the gun is cool, but when the gun is hot its a mother to rock it open.

Aside from that no issues, really fun to shoot.
 
What is the shortest overall length of the JCP 45 ACP (ie. stock pushed all the way in)? Would appreciate it if someone can measure his/hers.

Nobody sells them new for 800$ but pretty darn close to it. I wouldn't pay more than 750$ shipped for a used JR Carbine. Not worth saving a 150$ over new. I not that cheap.

I got mine from international shooting supply in surrey for $900+12% GST PST = $1008.00 is what they cost new, no way in hell you will find a dealer in Canada that will sell these for $800 new. And if your only willing to pay $750 shipped maybe someone will sell you one, that's over $250 in savings.
