I am considering bob'ing a Norinco 1911 - you know, making it like a SIG Nightmare or CBOB. Have any of you done this yourself? What is involved besides milling off part of the frame, changing to a bob style MSH, and modifying your grips? Does anybody have a template or shoud I use the BOB'd MSH for this?

I have the stuff including the jig, it's just a few guns down on the priority list. You can get everything you need at fusion firearms (you pretty much need the jig cause if you're out just a few thou, you're pooched). If you aren't sure, send it to Casey at Tacord, he has done a few.

i've done a norc commander with the ed brown jig and ed brown bobbed mainspring housing, was easy, quick and looks great. have fun, its a neat and easy project

You just haven't looked hard enough, they do have it. Their catalog is massive, if you don't see it, e mail them for a part no.

I got Dlask to bob my Norc commander with the Ed brown jig. I finally got the main spring housing last month.
I should get on with the rest of it.
I'll post pics soon.

Main spring housing was about $75 shipped. I got the blued snake skin one.
I think Joe charged me about $60. A CGNr loaned me his jig, and housing so they could profile it nicely.
