Hey all, another great day for CQB and CFB Borden. The matches went fast and efficient as usual and everybody got out before the rain. The MD extends his compliments to the shooters today for a well run match.
44 competitors in total shot the scoring phase. Apparently there were some who had to drop out due to malfunctioning equipment. Crappy but that is part of the learning curve and it's just what happens during some matches. Hopefully those issues can get resolved and those shooters will be back raring to go at the next event.

Stats below. Congrats to Treddinick. Attaboy there buddy.

This was my first match and I had an absolute blast. No pun intended. Whoever I was hangin' out with at the end and letting me tryout his battlecomp brake, thanks and send me a PM if you're on here. Much thanks to the staff and it was great meetin' so many shooters today. I don't think i'll be able to enjoy bench shooting as much after this, lol.

I am still astounded I won 3rd place best of the worst class. I was on a target with 4 very good individuals and we could keep our act together and be organized and where we should be and when. Really necesary in a fast paced match. Stay focused but friendly.
This is the first time doing much shooting with my M305 shorty and I experienced what all M14/M305 users seek. I continually heard the PING.
Lessons learned. Hook back up to your sling when finished modified prone if you disconnected. Makes using your pistol awkward if you don't. Don't mix your 4 and 5 round mags.
It throws you when your bolt locks back empty. Buy an AR15.
I mounted my pistol mags hanging down at the front of my vest as suggested by JRW(QOR). Much easier to grab and insert them.

That's a pretty darn good "screw up" score there Ganderite. If you get it right the rest us won't stand a chance. :)

He did not get to shoot his last full magazine of pistol at the ten yard line. Normally a solid 20-25 points based on how well he shoots. Would have walked away with the win.....

Great day shooting today! The Tim Fu held the weather off!

Anyone notice how much higher the scores were? All the top third scores were in the 400s

Also, all the operator scores were in the 300s.

And all the tryro scores were in the 200's.

I guess we are starting to get the hang of it.

Yah, I noticed that - just when you think you've improved - the bar moves up! Everyone's shooting better and the match ran like a well oiled machine!

Yet I cant get to 400... One day...

All of you guys are kicking butt! :D Hey, pobcat is back! I missed ya here, buddy! :)

Don't ever get the Diptheria, Polio, Tetanus, Whooping Cough booster shot the day before the CQB match. I was laid out flat in bed for the next 24 hours. My bad! I thought I was tuff enough because I trained under the Timfoo, but that was not meant to be.

Next time... oh, poop! I'm heading across the country for the 06 July CQB Fun. Oh well, we'll just have to create our own fun out WEST! Alberta Bound ! Alberta Bound! It's good to be.... Alberta bound!

Cheers all,

Barney

...I have a question. How are the three classes decided? How is it decided what class you will be in?...(master, operator, rookie class) By points you finish with, or is it another way? Thanks...new to cqb.

It's a mathematical split. Broken into even thirds based on final points scored. So you will not know your class until everything tallied up. These days master class,is looking like 400 points and up, the top guys keep getting better!
