I talked to you guys at the airport in Calgary yesterday while we where waiting for our rifles. Nice pics, you look like you had a good time, I'll post pics of my hunt tomorrow.
What have you decided on in terms of taxidermy with so many absolutely gorgeous trophy class animals harvested? Great write up by the way!
Which animal was the most delicious?
Wow your lodging and lunch sure make the trip look like you weren’t roughing it to hard.
Just some electrical tape for taping the barrel if needed.
Zebra will go on a pedestal with Vanessa's Hartman's zebra from Namibia. Sable will be on a pedestal. Eland was just going to be a European but after seeing his cape I think he'll be a pedestal as well. The remainder will be wall shoulder mounts. We are just going to have the lioness hide wet tanned for now in case we want a lifesize in the future. Of course the skull will be bleached from it too. Now to figure out where to put all this......lol
We made up a batch of bbq eland ribs one night that were really good but honestly, it all tasted awesome. The sable steaks were definitely the most expensive cut of meat I've ever tasted...lol We had springbok liver one night for an appetizer that was out of this world too. Hard to go wrong with any of the antelope species. We both really like zebra as well.
Very nice! I'd almost wish for a second zebra for a rug/wall mount. How challenging did you guys find hunting zebra compared to your other trophies?
