Swiss Arms rifles being examined for reclassification?

no I have no basis for my claims, trying to understand how the variant process works, I think that is how the lab works.
seems like it all can be saved by Order in Council.

Yes, an OIC that removed the SG 550 from the prohibited-by-name list would be wonderful. I don't know if the Firearms Act has a provision for this, or if such a provision is even needed --- perhaps there's a mechanism whereby an OIC can be revoked. If so, it's worth asking for this in your letter to the MLAs/PM. Can anyone with knowledge of the Parliamentary process chime in about the OICs?

This may be a tad inappropriate at this point but the more I analyze the statement made (mostly by TSE and CSC) the more appalled I am at where this is headed.

So TSE, if this goes sour are you going to make it up to all of us by buying all our SA rifles back at full retail including tax and all our magazines then deal with turning them into the RCMP yourself? Seems fair to me. None of us have done anything wrong other than buy a beautiful rifle from a trusted retailer.
Seems like you've made a lot of money off us and now thrown everyone under the bus in an attempt to make your competition look bad without seeing the big picture before acting. It was your 2 "control" rifles that are the reason this has exploded into the s#itstorm this has become. Had you simply supplied current inventory they would have looked at them all and said "hmmm.... no problems here carry on and thank you for your concern you diligent responsible Canadian firearms retailer". Now... well we all know what's around the next corner if documentation isn't provided in time to save our rifles.

If this goes bad you will have one chance to have even the slightest chance I ever walk through your doors again and considering I am a DTA SRS owner that I bought new from you and I also own a SA and many other $2000+ rifles I hope that means something to you as to how valuable a customer I am to keep. Also keep in mind we all know many other gun owners and bad news spreads quickly. I foresee a drastic drop in your regular client base if we all get left twirling in the wind with no compensation. I really don't care how much this costs you if it comes to buying them back as long as it doesn't cost me for what you've done.

If I have the facts wrong or have misread some of your statements please correct me but if I lose my SA because of the two sample rifles you dug out of some box you had hidden in the basement from 10 years ago I won't be shopping with you again.
I would like to know where those two rifles came from, who imported them, when they were imported, how many were in that shipment, the info that you should have supplied when trying to explain why those were selected as the control samples you sent to the RCMP instead of rifles from a fresh shipment. The documentation should be available from the importer so share with us and gain some trust back. If the RCMP know how many C/A are out there and owners of those can bring them in and exchange them for a new rifle maybe the RCMP will leave the rest of them and us alone.

At this point I don't think letters to our MP's or the PM are going to do anything because in this case it seems that the RCMP are only going on the information they have been provided by TSE and are trying to correct a mistake they think was made 12 years ago due to false information provided 12 years ago. Not realizing the false information was just given to them in the form of the two control samples.

OIC
makes sense for Harper and Toew's
why
save tax payer money from Liberals mistake in letting these in 12 years ago, playing devils advocate on the "mistake" aspect
Sig 550 a million full auto in swiss homes and switzerland in a great country these are not problem guns can..
never used in a crime in canada.
gives us a bone.

Needless to say reading what's gone-on in here for a few days has opened my eyes to the truth about why this even became an issue lately, has been an issue from the get go and it's all absolutely astounding to me really. I only wish I knew about all of this 5 months ago.

Yes, and this is why it's so important to lobby for changes to the system by getting involved in the political process, either through letter writing or supporting the CSSA/NFA. Individuals like yourself, and many hundreds of others, trust that the RCMP Firearms Lab and Canada Firearms Program will treat law abiding citizens in a fair and reasonable manner --- the currents laws allow far too much leeway in their actions, and all with limited to no oversight. Educate, inform, and act to make a change.

I would just like to shoot and enjoy my life in Rural Canada without being constantly under threat of persecution and then prosecution.
Hippies, Left-tards and Urban Yuppies have FAR too much say in what others do with their lives.

The antis and the gun grabbers from the government (not only from RCMP, but from ALL the government)
are running out of work, and have nothing to do all day long, because their job is getting done by the gun dealers now.

So true.....................Also if this gun is made restricted it's value on the market in Canada is cut in half, no way I would pay the premium for this rifle...

Best defence is a good offence. Don't welcome these kinds of people, don't make life easy for them. They'll leave.

I dont know but I would fly half way around the world in an attempt to cover it up though.

Good one, lol. ;)

Zero chances for me. This type of behaviour has not only been completely irresponsible, but morally reprehensible.

Ya but then your a bully and a crazy redneck gun owner.

I don't care if they don't want to own a gun and I'll never try to force my beliefs on them but I do care that they lobby to have them taken from us because they don't think we should have a gun just because they don't believe we "need" them. If everyone quit being so worried about what everyone else was doing and just let people do what they wanted as long as it didn't infringe on their rights and freedoms this would be a much better place. The way it is now there are too many people trying to impose their beliefs on the rest of the world thinking they are making it a better and safer place.
My world is safer when I'm holding one of my rifles or pistols, and everyone around me is safer as well since I would only ever use a firearm to stop a crime not to commit one.

We're getting off topic.
Still waiting for some info from TSE providing some details to clear what their true intentions were and why they provided the rifles they did rather than fresh imports.

I always wondered if the RCMP would start reclassifying firearms after the LGR was gone. ALL SEMI OWNERS BEWARE...THIS IS OUR 4.2" MOMENT!!! Lets not repeat history. It's time for some common sense gun laws in Canada. There are no bad guns, only bad people...

So be it, better that than a proverbial rape victim. They blow their horn in defense of every move we make, its matching their aggression that will beat them back to their yuppy urban lives and out of our business.

The rest is gospel. It should be reinforced that this is a democracy not a socialist waste land. Freedom for all does not mean majorities should be allowed to dictate how the minorities live.

Hopefully this turns out well, it seems to have potential to end well.

It's a lot more difficult to punish criminals these days (since the LIEberals gave them so many rights to protect their own asses when they get caught) than it is to punish law abiding gun owners that have never even thought of using their firearms to commit a crime.

Common sense? ...gun laws? I don't understand those words when used together. Isn't their a law against using those 4 words in the same sentence? I wish I was kidding.

I think it's safe to say at this point that being a "good corporate citizen" has blown right up in JR's face in not only self-incriminating and exposing himself to some extent but being left with having to try and put a whole lot of toothpaste back in the tube.

Unfortunately everyone's all been buckled-in on this ride all this time to it's eventual conclusion, whatever that will be.

Why are the restricted SA rifles the same price as the NR rifles then??

Most people start out with a NR rifle, and are then drawn in to the god-like awesomeness that is the Swiss Arms platform, and they have to have a carbine version.
