Pulled the trigger on this today. It is my first restricted purchase and should be fun. Hopefully will be able to fax my ATT application in later today.

When I purchased my first ristricted 12 months ago the BC CFO said they will not approve transfers until you apply and have your STATT.

That makes no sense.....

They won't issue a short term authorization to transport a firearm if you don't have one to transport..... If the transfer isn't approved you don't have a need for a STATT.....

Transfer approved, then transport permit.

Range membership on the other hand.......

nice pics

I have to say this is the best looking one so far IMHO

Thanks guys! And thanks to CanAm! I'm going to order another one tonight...

Not gonna lie, I had it stripped to the frame within 2 minutes of opening the box. The idea with this one was to have it look as classic and simple as possible. Once I get the next one in, I'll install the same grips, but pick the one with the lesser quality finish to force some wear on. Figure it would be cool to have it looking like it was carried in WWI.

My understanding is that the store will put in for the STATT, but that the RCMP seems to have a problem issuing a STATT if you haven't at least started the process for your ATT.
I'm expecting it to be a long process, and maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Also I have to agree with above, rc604 has the best looking one so far! I love the classic simple look and will be doing exactly the same with mine :D

Hey Dweano:
You should call just to confirm all of your info is in fact good, got a letter dated 29th stating they needed more info to complete so back to the bottom of the pile I go what a pain in the rear, this province needs help big time with these transfers are those guys union city workers or something!!!!!
Laugh2

I have called, on more than one occasion. However I never get an answer. Maybe I will try again. They have already initiated my transfer. That probably needed my address eh? I changed it with the CFC so...I dunno?

Do we gotta join a range before we get the transfer? I was under the impression that you just needed to say the one you intended to join. Once again...first restricted here. I live in Sask, if that makes a difference.

Once I get this darn thing in my hands I will be less worried. To take it outta the house I need the registration certificate, a range membership, and my LTATT correct?

I had four restricteds before I joined a range so I dont think you'll have a problem

So... I just called the CFC and all is approved. Do I have to contact CanAm to get the ball rolling or anything? My first restricted... sorry again for another n00b question!

Only with private sales do you ever need to contact the CFC. When dealing with dealers, they'll handle everything on their own.

Tracking CANPAR is a bit frustrating...

shows that my package left Vancouver. That's all.

I'd like to live vicariously through its travels!!!

Just hope it (actually "they") don't get here when The Wife is here alone.

She knows about ONE... not the second! LOL!!

untrue... u can initiate the transfer once you have confirmation of sale . YOU will need , serial, license number of vender, full name and address their contact number and of course the proper form .. this will speed up the process!!.. if the seller doesn't want to cooperate, call the CFO of your province and they will investigate your transfer immediately. .. once you purchase the restricted item it is your responsibility to make sure it registered properly!

Here is my last rant on this thread. I am fed up with Canada Ammo. First I made a mistake in ordering, slipped in a wrong digit. Addressed this within 1 day. Payment was not received until a full month later, and only AFTER I HAD TO EMAIL MULTIPLE TIMES TO ADDRESS THIS (begging a business to take my money should of been a red flag). I received a voice mail asking for my physical address (Of which I am 110% sure I have already) They ask that I call them or email. I call and get an answering service stating that they ARE NOT TAKING CALLS!!! So I email the info address have yet to hear anything. Tried calling again nothing. How can people run a business like this. I feel like I have been more then patient but the 2 month mark is fast approaching and goods that I have paid for are not in my possession. It seems like whenever there is a call for more info your paperwork goes to the bottom of the pile. Thank you for this great deal however I am one and done with this company.

Well, my first order was on April 24th. I added a second on the 27th.

The wheels, while they may be slow, are actually turning. My order is finally

in the shipping stage. I *will* enjoy these firearms when they arrive - perhaps

early next week... I have some nice Chip McCormick mags here already, and a

pair of Chip McCormick grips, as well, on the way. (Might as well keep it to a theme! LOL)

One will definitely be a project gun, to dress up as I wish!

1911A1 was not carried in WW1
f:P:

Just wondering here - if I replace the mainspring housing with a "flat" one, would

it pass muster in any CAS shoots under the "Wild Bunch" category?

depending on your club, typically, if the 1911 is pretty much stock / bare bones, much like the one in question, it will be allowed - although you may be disqualified if you're the one that wins the Cadillac and the others kick up a fuss. ;)
