FWIW, I've scoured the FRT for a # and can't find one. Doesn't mean there won't be one, but there doesn't appear to be one issued yet. So I wouldn't hold your breath.

Its already been explained how the # can be issued but not immediatly accessible in the FRT. The process which it has to go through usually creates a gap between the time its issued and the time its released.

I don't even know why I bother with this thread anymore, it has turned into a pile of redundant remarks by people who have not followed all the previous threads/discussions, as well as individuals who have never been invloved in the process of importing a new firearm yet think they know better than the distributor (who by the way has confirmed this very morning on their facebook that the process with the RCMP, DFAIT, and manfacturer is going smoothly).

Hell, people here haven't even seen the gun and they think they know whats going on...

So in light of this, I think i'm done trying to keep people positive here....

Carry on.

I am starting to learn that. But why all this teasing? Why not just get all the backdoor crap sorted out, then be like SURPRISE LOOK AT WHAT YOU CAN BUY NOW?

I think they were planning a big reveal where they were going to say "Surprise! Look what you can buy now" but somebody let the cat out of the bag long before they were ready. It's the internet dude! There's always someone who will let fly with the latest rumor.

Yes, because we all know a business and/or individual would never lie about such a thing right?

Exact same situation as the T97 a few months back

Exactly TVPP, and where are these T97 rifles now?? Right, not anywhere near in country and its been how many years? I agree with Ztunelover, if you don't have the FRT and a boat load of rifles IN COUNTRY, then STFU. This pre approval, pre arrival hype only serves to discredit a company, not generate future business.

There is at least one Type 97 in country on tour and forcasted delivery is in two months.

People need to relax. Never seen a community so divided over its own selfish wants. There is a bigger fight people.

HAHAHAHAHA one rifle? Do you honestly believe the importer only ordered one rifle? If that is indeed the case, then the first shipment is a long time out. I'm sure I heard that type 97's would be here for spring, then it was early summer, now its late summer. How many years has it been now? The big hype started last year prior to Christmas, now we might be lucky to see them for this Christmas. I stand behind the statement I posted earlier. If you don't have the rifles IN COUNTRY then STFU.

I simply said one rifle was in country. As non-restricted. When you mentioned the Type 97.

Relax dude. So eager to be angry, can't let anyone be happy or hopeful. Just gotta crush it.

As if the RCMP lab wasn't doing enough of that for the community already.

Dude its not being angry it's being realistic, I hate to keep dragging it up, but really how long did the scar get towed along and then at the end of the long road what do we find out? It's prohib. And as Faith Goldy in sun news pointed out there is no checks or balances the firearms lab can change judgement in an instant with no fear of repercussions.

Half the people that are jumping up and down like nothing can go wrong, it's only gonna hurt more if it goes wrong, trust me I speak from experience on that one.(F'king scars left a scar in my heart). Type 97 is a good case in point. Where are they? Accepting presales in lots of retailers yet no one has any hard eta on dates, always delaying it 3 months at a time, the chicom can serve up a ship full of that stuff with ease.

All I'm saying is don't count the chickens before they hatch. Trigger hasnt answered why they wont disclose the frt#, let alone what the number itself is, which smells fishy right there.

I'm well aware of what happened with the Type 97 the last couple of months. And the SCAR. And the BD series. And the Swiss now.

I'm not counting chickens before they've hatched. I'm just refusing to give up on there being progress in the gun industry.

And I understand why stuff gets leaked. If the people I bought guns off of weren't excited about the guns, they wouldn't be in business in a market like ours.

Especially a market where so many people crap on them early on but yet jump on the band wagon when they come thru with the product.

Excitement over a non existent, non approved firearm is akin to mental masturbation. It serves only to frustrate all parties involved. Will there be progress in this country for firearms and their owners? Sure, its possible. Will it be earth shattering or all encompassing? Not a chance any time soon. The excitement over firearms by those in the business is more to do with the projected profits than the product itself. As for crapping on the industry, I only crap on those who promise great things and fail to deliver. And I surely won't be buying one nor have I ever been one to piss and moan only to be a future customer..

ETA: I can understand why the FRT hasn't been released(if it exists at all) but, why have the specs not been released? If the FRT process is "going smoothly" as they say, then the specs should be a zero issue to disclose. Fuel the hype fire and tell us some details.

The main point remains ; you don't even know what the gun is nor looks like. No one here does. You keep comparing it to other guns as if you knew they fit the same profile.

There are horror stories with new guns like the T97 and others. But people here seem to forget very quickly that lots of cool guns get cleared and are still here for the whole community to enjoy. BRS-99, skorpion, ACR, XCR, FAMAE SAF, FRB, you name it.

And lets not forget that although some of them are under scrutiny due to importation #### ups, they haven't been prohibited.

So. Whats really premature is you thinking that this gun will 100% be prohibited without even knowing ANYTHING about the platform.

But if you want to assume that every cool firearm is eventually going to get banned, well, just sell all your guns, give up, and find a new hobby.

I truly and completely do not give a flying #### what it looks like. If inexpensive 5.45 becomes available seeing that this is the only rifle available in that chambering I might consider it, granted it works as it should with good reliability.

Jumping up and down like a doped up monkey offered bananas on a rifle that hasn't even been approved for import? Ya you go there, just let me know where so I can sit down and eat a bag of popcorn while you chase this phantom rifle around.

Not gonna lie boss, that is a pretty pitiful list. brs99 nearly no one has any in stock, acr, same but it's immensely expensive, xcr hahahahahaha, what a pile, famae I'll give you that again who whas some in stock, whats the frb?

Not to mention the acr and famae and the xcr for that matter are fairly expensive.

Well obviously you do, since you think it'll be an AK look-alike and base your whole opinion of the situation off of that speculative fact.

I could've bet a 20$ you'd say that. When its not available, it'll be prohib...when it is available, its either too scarce or too expensive....

One has to wonder, are you happy about anything when it comes to firearms?

I rest my case, you have once again proven that the only thing that drives you to discuss anything is negativity. Pretty sad.

I realize that you're pretty sensitive from being battered around a bit being the cheerleader for this rifle, but you need to pump the brakes a bit. I didn't say the rifle wasn't coming in and I don't think my post was very negative - I'm just being realistic. If the FRT hasn't even been released yet, it isn't exactly going to be next week that we see the rifles. Hence the comment not to hold your breath - it might still be awhile. I realize that this drama was started by a foolish retailer opening their mouth too soon, and I'm not saying anything negative about the importer/distributor.

And I actually have been involved in the process of importing, exporting and verifying firearms. Which is why I have FRT access. And there are even a few FRT numbers which I participated in the issuance of. You aren't the only one here who knows the process. So you should probably take a break from the internet or cool your jets a bit.
