wheres ztunelover with his dainty updates on how crappy this will be and no way its getting into canada??!!!!!!!!!!

Just woke up, this will be terrible and never allowed in canada. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Sorry wont drop the ball again, I will be up at 8 in the morning tomorrow, no i wont.

Seriously though I didnt say it will be crappy, I'm saying we are getting stoked for a rifle we know nothing about. It just might turn out to be epic, but the rifle itself could turn out to be crap, does interarms/high standard have any major mil contracts to show their merit as manufacturers? If it was something hk or fn or cz, steyr I can safely say I would piss my pants because in all likelihood it would be a stellar rifle. I can't get excited in this case till i see the stats on the rifle itself.

And I never said there is no way its getting in, but dude if that swiss debacle goes wrong this could get caught up in the rc going superbanhammer everything

And my comments are fuelled by diced dolphins and minced lions, they are far from dainty good sir.

Interarms Tantals are a known quantity in the U.S. market; a decent mid to upper mid grade example of the type. I'd be surprised if the export version differed drastically.

Also, remember, for the type of rifle it is, there's just not going to be a lot of export opportunities outside of otherwise legally restricted markets like ours, even if you were an FN or an HK.

For me it's whatever, wait and see, although I'll be happy to buy one if and when they became available.

Heck, I'd consider having one built instead of buying off the shelf.

I thought it was not supposed to be a tantal, it was supposed to be a rifle that fires 5.45 or 7.62

You misunderstand me, a FN SCAR or HK MR223 or Steyr AUG is a known thing, it's almost certainly going to be an excellent piece of hardware, they are service rifles, or heavily based off service rifles and designed by giants in the industry, this rifle is being manufactured by a well known company, but 1) we have no clue what it is, 2) they have built only reproductions of existing designs rather than produce their own, and this is their first go at it, see where my reluctance comes into play?

My thoughts exactly

And on a sidenote I have yet to see anything from interarms has anyone else contacted high standard asking them about this rifle?

Yep. ztunelover will be handing out tinfoil hats at the door tonight.

Incorrect, good sir, I am far too busy eating bacon to hand out hats, that job has been relegated to you, and only gold crowns for me thanks.

so you guys are getting all worked up over a rifle that may or may not be like another rifle and have no idea what it is like? have i got this straight?

That's definitely one way to put it. It's claimed to be the first attempt by a mediocore copy company to come up with their own hardware. Wanna be the guinea pig and try one out?

Is it actually going to be called "Canadian sporting rifle?"
I checked the FRT databank, and there is NO FRT # for a firearm under that name, also tried High Standard ( Yes, I know it's going under a different brand. )

There a reason for this, or has it not shown up yet?

No. As posted it will now be called the Interarms Model 2013 Sporter as it will be sold internationally.

I prefer M-13S. Not as cool as CSR though.

Also, when a firearm is received by the lab, an FRT number is issued. The sample is tested, the report completed then the FRT number and report are filed in the FRT database where it is viewable by us, the public.

FRT number is guarenteed. The question is what legal status will be assigned to the rifle.

Thanks for the reply, Fenceline. I didn't, and don't read whole threads of this type, because comments on them are speculative, and in general useless - unlike yours. Thank you.
I will check the FRT when I get a chance for that name, and hopefully, it has been assigned to a class - or has someone already done that?

I'm waiting for high standard to get back to me I sent them an email. This rifle is not on their website. But no one managed to produce a FRT # yet.

I wouldn't say I'm late, I posted in the original thread asking for facts. Then I realized posts in that thread were as helpful as a youtube comment, and never returned. Seems to be more folks in here that want to get to the bottom of this, then goof off.

Excellent. Could a request a PM to the thread when you get more information? I don't check CGN as often as I should.

You should really do JUST a bit of research before commenting sometimes.
