Federal 5.56 62gr green tip?

The US?

It is my understanding that they will not export US made Green Tip due to ITAR (it is considered controlled military goods for export).

That leaves us with buying only foreign Greentip like the PMC stuff.

(although I believe their is a "loophole" to import components and get the pulled projectiles here)

I am sure someone will be along shortly with better information.

Thanks for the info... Not looking for pulled bullets thou.
PMC should be fine... Do you know who carries it?

I have bough it from SFRC and The Shooting Edge in the past year, but I don't think either is in stock right now.

Depending on how much you need, I could dip into my stash if you can't find any and can't wait for it (and are willing to pick up in the Edmonton area).

edit: I stand corrected on it coming in from the States. That is some good news, and follows all the other slackening of the ITAR rules we have been seeing lately like the 5.56 marked chambers and ammunition, and the .50s. It seems these are some good times to be a Canadian Gun Nut afterall.

Thanks for your help Critter... I'm not in a real hurry I just want to try it in the Tavor on the off chance it might outshoot the rest of the loads I have tried... I would only need twenty to get a real good idea. I don't get to Edmonton all that often these days but will send you a PM when I do if I can't get any before that.

Also thanks for the info latenight.

lol, only 20!

I don't think I could bring myself to even ask for a large double double for that, and that would only be if it was on the way.

I was thinking you needed a thousand or two.

And it should be decent in the Tavor, as it the same M855/SS109 round they designed it for.

I would be happy to bring a double double for 20 rounds of green tip. I have only ever put 5 through my tavor but it absolutely loves them! They come and go to the site sponsores but you have to be quick when they announce stock.

Thanks again critter... I bit the bullet so to speak and went ahead and bought a thousand from sfrc. The link made it very easy.

Hope it works out. I have 1200 rounds left of federal green tip 5.56 855 Ball that you could have tried. My Tavor eats it, shoots straight, clean powerful. And I love the ammo cans.
