My first custom rifle.... A 308 what else...

from pwg website, the coyote have a kriege barrell, lots of cool stuff and a mcmillan a5
get any good quality custom actionm a mcmillan a5 and a krieger barrell and you just got a clone or better than a coyote.

if you have a trued 700 action and a barrel, if it shoot as you want, there is nothing wrong with that and pwg can suck your D$%K

hope you enjoy your gun

a+

Oh ok, kind of like how a 700 in an aics makes an AI.

As a newbie in custom rifle, i rely entirely to Sean that come with a reputation of excellence, this rifle WILL shoot .5 or better with the right load... Really that is the real important thing for me... A rifle that dont give .5 or better is seing a lot of safe time as it was said before over and over i have no use for a rifle that wont give me a .5 or better of the bat, this is the law of excellence and i stick to it... Cheers. JP.

I have chosen to go with a 24 inch barrel for my build, that is the only lenght of 308, i did not have.... 16.5-18-5 -many 20- 22- 26- 28- 30 so should be complementary to my herd of tree-zero-eight... JP.

I think everyone understands the level of quality and excellence that goes into the PGW coyote and that it is unmatched ANYWHERE. Out of respect for Ross lets please not confuse my modest efforts with the product they put out. I had some bbls done with spiral flutes cause it looks so cool. As someone else said a fluted bbl and rem action does not a coyote make. Lets please refrain from referencing to their products.

Cmon guys! The flutes on the Coyote CLEARLY twist to the left. Seans twists to the right. Not a clone at all! Sure looks nice though. Well done

Sean builds excellent rifles! He gives very good customer service and I own two of his rifles and am very happy with them. If you want a custom build I highly recommend him. See I did that with out putting down another company is that so hard!?! Both Sean and Ross are great guys who have given back to the shooting community in many ways they just dont run around telling everyone! They are low key
and humble.

Sean has some ###y rifles thats for sure we need to do a photo shoot!!!!

Well said Sean and others. I am apologize for my comments, in no way were they meant to offend anyone.

DG...I agree, pics of Sean's rifles would be a great idea. Once my next rifle is complete, I will post up some photos out at the range.

Crashman my reply was to itir_douche12 not you! You explained
your opinion and situation nothing wrong with that! I am proud to
Own rifles from both PGW and North Shore Barrels. Everyone has
a budget some more than others different taste application so it's
good to have some choice and right here in Canada with excellent
customer service.

I too have rifles from PGW and from Sean at NSB. Both of PGW and Sean make/assemble excellent rifles. With Sean, like any other good gunsmith, you can choose the budget and have it as 'custom' as you want or simply make a small improvement over what came from the factory. With PGW you are buying a high-end tactical rifle that is as good as any out there. Your choice and both are good ones.

As usual Tomochan says the same thing but written in English
instead of my hilly billy punctuation;-)

If I ever win the lottery I will pay Tomochan to be my spokes person
I will also pay for GunBoy maybe a two for one deal:-0

Thanks DG, but I thought maybe my comments were misunderstood by others so I thought I should "clear the air" so to speak.

DG - my rates are very reasonable mate :)

Seriously, I'm quite often asked whether to go custom or simply buy high-end factory and since many folks seem to be either all custom or all factory I think I may be in a minority in that I have both. When less-experienced folks ask I usually say to buy factory since many newer shooters simply don't really know what they want ( must be a nightmare for gunsmiths ) and they also have stupidly unrealistic expectations. When you have settled on your ideal then you can have a good discussion with a smith and realise your dream. The only real downside to custom IMO is that it will be your dream rifle not someone else's so resale may be harder than with, say, a TRG or PGW. case in point is that Remy/AICS on Sean's website; a rifle that is exactly what I wanted for Mrs T to shoot but it's unlikely anyone else wants a .223 with a straight 1.2" no taper tube on it that weighs as much as a scaffolding pipe LOL !

Ending on a funny note about the re-selling of customs, I once had a nice .308 built by Tac Ord which I advertised as a 1/2 MOA rifle. Well some guy on here was interested but after a while said that according to his gunsmith it should be a 1/4 MOA rifle and so he wasn't buying. I suggested he ask his smith to guarantee him a 1/4 MOA build. Funny thing was the fellow who eventually bought it was estatic as it, for him, did indeed print in the .2's. With a high end factory you generally don't have these conversations - people know what it is they are buying.
