My crate of surplus ammunition got delivered today and Canpar left it on my front porch. Tracking website says signature was not required. Is ammunition usually shipped without a signature?

yup. they left 250 rounds of shotgun slugs on my porch.............but at least he hid the huge box under my welcome mat.
Hell - they'll drop off restricted firearms that way, too.

I've had the same. Seems odd that it can be left that way given our storage laws.

Yep, Exactly what happened to me as well...and they left it in the worst possible spot so that anyone looking toward the front door as they walked by could see it.

Just my opinion, to them its just another package. Since when do they know whats in it. There for whats the big deal?

Safe enough, as I live in Boonsville. And they didn't bother to wake me up, to let it be known that it was there.
I think they must have a "Drop 'n Drive" policy.
But it's "Free Delivery", and I ain't complainin'.

they wouldn't leave mine, even after i signed the slip for the 2nd attempt..
when i picked up the package i found out why... on the box was a big label marked SHOTGUN....

What the hey why did I have to do a signature on my back packer than lol...WOUlD OF preferd not to and got it the day earlier..Just drop it off on my front door step I have a nice long drive way and no one bothers me. If you guys dont like ammo being dropped off at your door step send it my way.

Thats odd Canpar attemted to make a CanAm delivery for me yesterday, but no one was home so the driver left a parcel ticket on my door that said a second delivery attempt will be made today, and on the back of it (hand written) it said "We are no longer allowed to leave parcels on doorsteps".

Hm. I received an e-mail from them to let me know a delivery was coming in the next few days, and gave me a link to a form I could sign and leave on my door to authorize them to just leave my package on the porch, which I gladly did. Beats the hell out of waiting on your hands for them to show up, or going to get it at some sorting facility that could be a half hour drive somewhere.

I had left a paper on my door printed from CanPars site with my signature on it. It has a place for instructions, so I wrote "leave at back door". Not sure if it would've worked as I was home when they delivered my package.

all my shipments they leave a note if your not home. If you leave a note and sign it to leave it say at the back door if you have one, they will.
Sure saves a lot of time going to pick it up. There pick up hours are limited. Of course you are always worried that someone may pick it up.
I have an order comming in the next week so i guess i'll find out if they changed there policy.

Someone screwed to pooch .. And this was not just Canpar if no signature was required ..
Before everyone posts their story .. Ask who is going to read it and what difference it will make if CBC decides that it rates a national story .. If you get this poor level of service e-mail Canada Ammo and call Canpar
My personal experience has been different ..
If you want to see what complete coverage is .. Get a shipping quote from Cabellas on powder, or pay the hazmat fee that higginson powders adds on ..
Posting here does nothing to fix any problem .. Just brings one idiot drivers actions or one missed tick mark into over blown status ..
Just a rant .. But I depend upon on-line sales

Just got off the phone with Canpar, there is no policy change. But the drivers do know the contents of the packages and that is why mine were not left at the doorstep.
