Not sure if this was posted before, but if you have been looking for the KSG Barrel nut tool these guys make them. Shipped from St. Louis was $47.00
On a sunday afternoon I had all my questions answered and the product paid for and shipped. Google SMT Tactical...great guys to deal with.

Crazy though, hey? Quite the expense for a 20 second once in a lifetime use.

Ya no kidding... But since its Christmas in June. I'd hate not to spend a couple bucks and fudge something up.

I was thinking I'd charge $10 a pop for locals to use it, cheaper for them and I'll make money.... Kidding.

Well in a week or two if there are locals who need it just PM me and we can meet up and test her out on your KSG.

KSG Enforcer arrived today, I need to decide which tool to get.

For those who have installed brake on their KSG, did you have to use heat or just the tool alone?

Parts arrived today, took 60 seconds to remove barrel nut and install enforcer.

Did you have to heat the crap out of it? I tried removing my barrel nut yesterday and can't friggin budge it.

Nope, no heat.

did you try and remove with the tool or other method?

I put ksg between my knees and tool on barrel nut, then with hand on each side of the rod and twisted. I expected it would be lot harder.

I have the same tool as you , heated it up with a hair dryer for about 4-5 min, pretty hot. Had the KSG in a vice and couldn't move that mother if my life depended on it. Likely going to have to go to my local smith and see if he has a trick. Thanks.

I have the SMT Tactical choke tube adapter for my KSG, I also have the tool they make to remove the factory barrel nut... I did use a heat gun with a buddy to sweat the barrel nut 'loose', no problems removing it after that.

BUT, my question is, are you guys shooting slugs out of your KSG's with the brakes installed? The guys at SMT Tactical specifically note NOT to shoot slugs through the adapter & that's the reason I took it off & will only use it for hunting & buckshot/birdshot...

I guess the slugs/buckshot don't touch the brake on the way out?

Cheers
Jay
