well i just bough my first lever :) its a marlin 336y in 30-30 with a 16.25 barrel ive only had it for about 4 hours but the 20 rounds i put down it have made me very happy with my new toy

Is that one stamped Ilion, NY on the barrel. If so how's the fit and Finish and action ?
I heard they worked out all the bugs over at the Remington factory.

Sorry for the quick detour, but I bought a Remlin 1895 45-70 not long ago and it functions and shoots flawlessly. Fit and finish weren't perfect, but for around $560, it was better than expected!

OP, nice rifle! Whats the length of pull like on it?

Great gun.
Congratulations!

How's it group at 100 yards?

in all honesty was too exited to go home after the gun shop to grab targets, went right to the range :) i could hit the "kill zone" of the deer shaped and sized gong at my range (its 200 yards out further than i would take a shot on a real animal without a scope) pretty much every shot once i rased the rear site a little even got a couple heart shots (there in a seperate gong that swings at the heart location)

it is stamped north haven. ct, usa. the fit and finish is imo quite good not perfect buy any means but all in all a sharp looking rifle, we will just have to see how the blueing lasts

OP said:
the lenght of pull is comfortable for me (im 6 foot 1) its actually quite nice to shoulder, will need a couple hundred rounds through it to smooth everything up. i may put a rubber butt pad on it and see how i like shooting it with a little more lenght though

Love it, now if they made it with a straight stock I'd be all over it. I have a thing for short barreled straight stock Marlins.
