Is it safe to buy on the EE?

Somthing I suggest. Is look at the persons trader rating then contact come of there buyers or sellers and ask them how the deal really went.

In that case could you please tell me why I can't get SJHardware to return my phone calls (and now emails) to confirm whether the missing part for my shotgun stock was finally mailed?

I recently made a purchase from someone with zero rating and it was their only post. He was an honest dude, I got a great gun for a great price. Fortunately there are still good people out there. Just wanted to put out a positive anecdote about the EE.

Is it safe to buy on the EE? No it’s not, it’s addictive and another method of using all of your disposable income. If the sellers have been around the site for a while and have a good trader rating then usually there are no problems.

Not giving me the trouble of calling, if they call me, i will talk to them with pleasure, over a 100 transactions on the EE both side , only one person called me, the rest was all good to go on the internet, the biggest problem are the ones that says i will take it and dissapear without telling they dont want it anymore, but that is little, you just put it back on the EE and it sell in matter of minutes... JP.

Hey guys,

I recently got my RPAL, and I'm considering a 22LR pistol. I have some experience with shotguns and clay shooting but am limited in my knowledge of pistols. I have a pistol in mind and I see it listed on the EE, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to buy something sight unseen as it's not available locally. I know there is a reputation system in place, but is there anything else I can/should do to avoid getting scammed/ripped off?

Thanks in advance,

Check trader rating and check recent posts the person has made. Do a search on CGN for posts by the member you're thinking of buying from with the key words being the item you're wanting to buy, that can show you if they've had problems and they're unloading said item. I'm always leery of members who have gone through their old posts and deleted them, proves to me they're hiding something.

Registration approvals for handguns take a long time if you're from Ontario(and a few other provinces). Just keep in mind that sellers will want their money before they start a transfer. Some people from the provinces with slow CFO's seem to think they don't have to pay until the transfer is approved, not so.

There is also this page too http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?207-Fraud-Reporting-Forum

Ask questions that are of importance to you especially if you do not see something in the posted advert either in the picture or the way it is worded.
There might be a typing error or even a honest mix-up of pictures in which case it is a simple editing issue ( it does happen )
You being new to CGN and accessing the EE guys and gals will be sure to ask you a few questions via private message, email and maybe even a few phone calls.

Fraud can , will and does happen from time to time, but most situations of transactions from simple I love coffee and guns stickers to buying and selling or R Class and Prohib. guns are few and far between and most guys/gals are willing to assist you in finding what you want and getting it to you.
You may also want to look at the stickies where there is much information on how to mail your new to you firearm as well.
Tight Groups,
Rob

Honestly, checking someones trader rating can be misleading.

Someone can have a few hundred positive reviews and only a few negative reviews..
Someone orders a hat and they get the hat and the buying is happy and leaves a rating - "this guy is incredible! So fast and so professional!" Yea, he shipped a hat. Great.

If you're one of the 3 people out of 300 that have a negative experience with someone they might has well have 3000 positive reviews, you're still the guy who's out a few hundred dollars and dealing with someone either giving you the run around OR ignoring you completely. It's not a fun feeling at all.

If someone doesn't have a 100% rating then check out their reviews, find who gave them a negative review and read up on what went sour with the deal. maybe contact the guy for more details.
If you're willing to risk the same problems that buddy who didn't get his product or had issues went through, then go ahead an order. If you don't want to be the guy who's left holding the bag with no one returning your phone calls or answering emails then find someone else do deal with.

GOOD POINT! The answer is yes its been sent but not until Friday but we have express posted it too you. have been away from the phone for a few days

I found, like many others stated, the EE is one of the main places to buy/sell guns. I have gotten a couple of items that ended up being much nicer than anticipated since most sellers are afraid of misrepresenting things. And any problem I may have had the seller is always great to work with to sort any issues out. try to stick to higher trade ratings (kinda sucks for people that are starting out....)

Dumb question I know, but what is the EE?

Get every possible information from the seller and don't just rely on seller's trader rating score.
Learned hard from my last EE transaction...had to wait for my gun to arrive at the door for almost 2month.
