What scope would you choose for $700?

You can only pick one scope, you can have contenders... but one scope has to be the one you pick.

Scenario; You are sent for survival/hunting on a deserted island. You have $700 to buy a scope before leaving, and its the only and last scope you can own until you return from the island. You also somehow have access to your scope's customer service on the island, and have a lot of batteries for IR.

Which scope do you pick? Oh its duty free btw.

I am kind of torn. I think I would get the Viper PST 2.5-10x44..

Leupold 2.5-8x36 VX3. Brightest scope I've used, and the B&C reticle works perfectly for most hunting loads. Illuminated reticles are totally unnecessary for this application.

If that is the brightest scope that you have used, you need to try some more scopes.:)

Can you still get a zeiss for the OP's stated budget of $700 without going to the Terra line? I was looking at the conquest HD 2-10 last weekend and it listed over $900 with the rapid z reticle.

Kind of my thoughts as well on the Zeiss, same for Leupold. Unless you get to shop in the U.S. for these scopes before going to this mythical island.

In this acid induced idea of a "deserted island" with customer tech support foryour chosen scope( seriously?!?!) Sure, I guess Vortex may be a viable option as I guess there's also some magical creature that $hits out replacement scopes.
If it were a real scenario such as a BackCountry Sheep hunt, Etc, I certainly would not trust it to a Vortex as some have suggested. From a durability standpoint something like a Nightforce 2.5-10 would be about ideal.

Don't be silly.. The replacement scopes are dropped by a great white stork. He pukes it out. Everyone knows that.

Anyways, I was just wondering where a Nightforce scope would be ever purchased for under $1000? I guess maybe it was an animal feces reference?

Thanks

You can get the Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x50 AO MC Riflescope for ~$700
Or go down the line to a 3x9 for even less. I paid $400 for mine in an unadvertised sale at my LGS.
