If it wasn't for my father I may not have experienced the outdoors. There is a special bonding between father and son when they are out hunting, it is a feeling that cannot be explained. Therefore, "Happy Fathers Day", especially to the fathers who raised their sons as hunters!!!

Happy Fathers Day and congrats to those father son duos who share a passion for hunting/fishing and in general the great outdoors. Those with fathers to guide them should consider themselves quite lucky indeed.

Echo that.. I still think of dad on those trips after many years..

My Dad wasn't what I would call an avid hunter, but he did like to hunt chicken and partridge. He very subtly instilled an appreciation of the outdoors in me. Although he has been gone from this earth for nearly 50 years, there isn't hardly a day goes by that I don't quote him, or benefit from his teachings and example. My only hope is that I've turned out to be anywhere near the man he was.

Those are some of my best memories!

My dad is 77 years old now and has lost interest in hunting, but we talk about the good old days while we view photo's. Now that I have been a father for 30 years, I am living what my father experienced and hopefully my son will continue the tradition, custom and heritage of hunting with his children. BTW Jongun, my parents live in Saliberry de Valleyfield.

My dad's not a hunter nor outdoorsman whatsoever but does enjoy going to the range with me when he can. Pretty much by myself when it comes to my trapping and hunting excursions. Learned pretty much all I know from reading, checking out different forums and going out and doing. Still have lots to learn especially in the hunting game as it's really new to me(been out a couple times for deer)compared to my trapping.Track not too far from Valleyfield here.

My father was a non-hunter bordering on anti and had no use for guns what so ever. I have no fond memories of him educating me in the ways of the outdoors, anything I know about hunting and the outdoor life I have gleaned from friends and buddies whose dads were outdoorsy.
Hunting to my father was just a waste of time and resources which could have been better used working. I used to send him pics of my adventures in Africa and Asia etc. and he would hang them up but always with the grumble about what a waste of money. He finally stopped asking what these little forays cost, as it was totally beyond his comprehension why I would spend the price of a new diesel pick up just to shoot an animal.
I on the other hand have taken both my boys to Africa hunting and spent considerable time locally hunting everything from birds to grizzlies with them. I took #1 son out and he arrowed his first sheep (#4 all time in the world, Pope&Young). #2 son is still young and not as obsessed with hunting but that may change, in the meantime, we include him at whatever level suits him.
I spent Fathers Day at the range doing what I love, so I guess it was a good day.
