Girsan yavuz 9mm

Nice, I guess I will have to pick up some 9mm dies. I have rifle dies, I just don't have a turret or progressive press. Only a single stage atm.

Having a progressive helps when you shoot pistol :)

Also, you can go lower with the powder load and have near zero recoil, but I found precission of the loads were just awful at anything less than the recommended max load (3.6 gr) in my manuals.

Anyone know where these are still available? I'be been waiting for CanadaAmmo to get stock back but their supplier has been causing delays. And with the protests in Turkey who knows if they'll start getting harder to find...

Just picked mine up on Monday from Al Flaherty's. They are excellent. Call them up, hopefully they still have one left for you!

I found that reloads made with 3.6 grains of clays powder with 124-125 grain bullets made for neglible muzzle flip with a Beretta 92 pistol. You may like your pistol more when you start shooting it like a movie gun, having the slide just move back and forth with no movement of the POA during recoil is pretty neat.

I've been thinking about trying clays when I run out of titegroup. I'm using, I believe, about 3.4 grains(dont quite me on that) or the smallest auto disk bushing. Either that or bullseye, once I find some in stock someplace, since I use it in .38 special already and I know that it meters ok in the lee measure.

My problem with the pistol is probably technique, as my shots end up low and right (left handed) no matter how much care I exercise.

Whoever got the last girsan from SRFC last night, damn you! I have a $250 gift certificate there and really wanted to get one!

Anyone want that gift cert plus cash to let me take their order instead?

ouch, and to think you were that close to getting one! I really do like mine. First impressions are very good. Double action is long though.

3.4 was ok, but 3.6 was better in my Glock 17 and Beretta 92FS. If you're putting your rounds low and right, it's your trigger finger that's causing the problem. You're likely "squeezing" the grip and trigger while you're going through the actions to shoot. Try dragging your finger along the bottom of the trigger guard and conciously keeping only one part of your finger touching the trigger at all times. Combine this with 10 mins of dry firing a night for a month and you'll have your problem licked.

am going to run a few hundred rounds through my compact tomorrow. I'm pretty sure this one will end up with a D spring in it before the weekend is done.

Just got back from the range with mine, put about 150 rounds through it, what a blast. I'm wondering what the grip options are for these things? What are the chances the Hogue wrap arounds are going to work with the finger grooves on the front of the grip?

^Looks nice being hard chromed and all but it's not as ###y as the real deal. They've changed the lines of the pistol too much IMO. I ain't feeling the finger grooves for one. The staight up and down thick slide serations look weird, and then the trigger guard is cut differently in the front and it doesn't have the middle finger relief cut underneath allowing you to get a higher grip on the pistol. But hey, that's just me.:p Congrats and enjoy.

I was in AL Simmons in Hamilton tonight fondling one, they had a chromed 4.9 inch model and a blued compact one. Felt comfortable in the hand and the price is great too.

Just got compact chrome model in from Frontier ( thx gents, excellent service). It is beautiful and feels awesome in the hand. Mags seem to be a little scarce....any tips?
Range closed this weekend for service, cant wait to blast away!

Looks like Marstar has some in stock. They're the Mec Gar ones that the Girsan comes with.

Still waiting on the transfer to go through on mine. Went out and got all the "little things" on Friday - trigger lock, cleaning solvent, gun oil, and a hundred rounds of 9mm. Hopefully the transfer and ATT go through soon and I can take mine out to the range.

Anyone up for posting more pictures of theirs? I'm not finding too many quality pics of them.
