posting here is not going to help now........CALL FIRST, discuss it with them. if they dont reply report the gun missing/stolen...with the cfo..that will move things for you! remember you are responsible, liable and punishable for the improper storage of your weapon . there is no reason for them not to ship ASAP..
Yes, well, if any newbies or regulars do what this moron says to, I would hazard a guess that the rcmp would have good reason to consider you to unstable to possess a plastic straw and wad of wet paper, let alone a firearm! Relax, ffs!

If Vettek50 is suggesting that people call CanadaAmmo, forget it. Their voice mail says (Paraphrased) that they're too busy processing orders to answer the phone. Consider - how many HUNDRED shipments they say they are making every day. Consider that each shipment involves legal paperwork, tracking on the computer, notifying the customer, contacting the shipping company, physically packing, labelling, and confirming the correct information on the shipment, and every time you ask them "where's my shipment" someone there has to stop what he/she is doing to look up your information, and you'll have an inkling of why your shipment keeps taking longer and longer to make it to you.
Leave them alone, let them work. Your stuff will be sent. If after 6 weeks you still don't have your .45, perhaps start sending "whassup" note to their info email adddy. but you know in advance this is a popular item, so be patient. I want my pistol too, but I know it will take a while, and I'm using the time to make a pair of replacement grips out of a chunk of orangewood. And - today - I found my engraving tools...

Update on the finish: still holding up great! I don't think I have to worry about tarnishing. The mothers polish seems to be holding up. Thinking about frog lube or fluid film?

Wow, that's nice (still)! I may have to give this a shot. If it doesn't work out as well for me, does the cold bluing deliver respectable results?

Post pictures from time to time of your progress on these.....I was thinking about doing this as well with my Dremel.....but I found some lovely half-checkered grips on Marstar's web site....And got them already :D

For the rest of your post mentioned above, you're right in every ways....but I have only one suggestion for the next deal fo Can Am....better say that there's a risk that orders will take a bit of time due to popularity ;-)

Nice work on the polish. I recently polished up a barrel and receiver and it is not quick work. What grade did you polish to? Tedious work.

Please read one of the million posts about "How long until my crap ships" in the forum. I don't know why I bother answering though, the same question will be posted again in a matter of hours by someone who hasn't read any one of the numerous posts that answer the question already :)

For Future Reference:

Canada Ammo ships the pistol roughly 48 Hours after receiving the transfer notification from the CFC. Just because you received your transfer notification, it doesn't necessarily mean CanAm has received it on their end. If you receive your transfer paperwork, feel free to scan it and email it to info@canadaammo.com . At current rates, from ordering to info being sent to CFC is 2-3 weeks. CFC is averaging 3-5 weeks to approve transfer. Some people have had luck contacting CFC with their pistol info and getting them to rush their process, but not all have had luck doing this. Expect that from order to receiving of your new toy may be upwards of 6 weeks.

Must be one hell of a drive to work every day from the West Kootenays to Vancouver.
By your post I assume you work for CanAmmo . ;)
I think just about everyone knows what their policy is as far as processing times & shipping times .
What they lack in speed is made up for in discount prices .
But this combo special has stretched that lack of speed to a new level so it's only normal to see lots of venting about where is my order , when will it ship , why can't they answer the phone , why won't they respond to my e-mail.
{Expect that from order to receiving of your new toy may be upwards of 6 weeks}
If this is the new norm for ordering a restricted firearm from them I'll just limit my CanAmmo purchases to ammo & non-restricted's from now on . Other dealers & private sales transfers are submitted within a day or so not weeks
And yes we all know they sold hundreds if not thousands of these combos but they have stated they are NOT overwhelmed buy the amount of orders:rolleyes:

Hey CGN, I made a post awhile back http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/foru...1000-rds-Combo-Deal-499&p=8743691#post8743691 on how this finish was accomplished. There are many different techniques and products you can use, but it's how I did mine. I have been looking into different finishes for the 1911. Iam enjoying this one for the time being. A word of advice for anyone attempting this finish, as Yulisius stated it takes time and patience.

How much would it cost at a gun shop in Canada to achieve a similar, but tried and lasting finish? $300. Anyone have their handguns finished in polished nickel or chrome ?

Canam,, received my first three and have reordered two more,, If any of these whineey ba$tards give you any grief, I'll take their place in line!

I should order a couple more...

Now that I have a pair to enjoy and keep me occupied for QUITE a while, I

know I could stand the wait. I don't NEED any more, though!! Somebody please

talk me OUT of ordering!

Maybe this has been asked before, but what do I need to watch our for when buying grips for this gun?

Right on, complaining on this thread will not get you said toy one minute sooner!

all people who advocate no complain should be ashamed for this socialist attitude. in a free market its survival of the fittest business. if this company cannot deliver, another one should step in to compete. with competition everyone is on their "A" game. no competition and you get bureaucratic service. think government. if you have high volume of orders no one cares. boo hoo. hire more people. thats not our problem. thats your problem.

in no other industry would this be tolerated. its is the hard earned dollars of your customers that put food on your table. treat them accordingly.

imagine a grocery store where the owner sees line ups everyday. they could hire more cashiers but if they are the only grocery in town, AND they dont care about customers, they dont care to fix the problem and they make you wait. what does this say about the respect the owner has for his customer's time not to mention they want to keep all profit for themselves.

hire more people, create jobs, help the economy. if you are shipping hundreds a day, you can afford more people.

this is why canadian businesses like blackberry get eaten alive. the attitude is lets sit on our success until someone comes along and eats our lunch. it doesnt help that customers are equally passive " lets tolerate crappy service, lets tolerate government gun grabbing etc etc". innovate, cater to the customer

Hate to break it to you, but CanAm isn't the only online retailer. If you dislike the service offered, move on and support a retailer you like.
