Update: got ahold of a bench grinder and some buffing compound. Cleaned up the small scratches and gave it a better shine.

Still have to use a Dremel to buff the serations on the back of the slide and put the rear sight on. Iam pretty much done,- pearl grips. If anyone is interested in having this done PM me.

Got mine today. It took a while (ordered May 1st) but it was worth the wait. I got a good one!! Head and shoulders above my last Norc. Nice tight slide and the finish is way better than I expected. No flaws on this one! I changed out the main spring and the sear spring and it's already feeling pretty good. A little polishing of the slide rails and some Ergo XT grips and I'm set.
It's a keeper.

Got mine today as well. Cleaned up nice. Grips are ok but my son has promised to print a custom set on his 3-D printer. Opening another crate of ammo is like much like opening the crates of gold on Kelly's Heros.

well im getting my 1911 bright nickel platted ,,its gonna cost about $150

I called in to the CFO today for another reason, but I asked if there was a transfer on my file. Turns out the transfer was initiated on June 7th (one day after payment was taken). So they approved it right there and she told me she faxed the transfer notification to CanAmmo right then, but didn't send it to me because she said I don't need it... Anyways, I hope CanAm got it. Looking forward to shooting this weekend if it gets shipped within 24hrs.

Please read one of the million posts about "How long until my crap ships" in the forum. I don't know why I bother answering though, the same question will be posted again in a matter of hours by someone who hasn't read any one of the numerous posts that answer the question already :)

For Future Reference:

Canada Ammo ships the pistol roughly 48 Hours after receiving the transfer notification from the CFC. Just because you received your transfer notification, it doesn't necessarily mean CanAm has received it on their end. If you receive your transfer paperwork, feel free to scan it and email it to info@canadaammo.com . At current rates, from ordering to info being sent to CFC is 2-3 weeks. CFC is averaging 3-5 weeks to approve transfer. Some people have had luck contacting CFC with their pistol info and getting them to rush their process, but not all have had luck doing this. Expect that from order to receiving of your new toy may be upwards of 6 weeks.

I'm not complaining, but they are no longer shipping within 48 hours of receiving the transfer notification. I emailed my transfer notification to them a week ago, followed it up with another email three days later to ensure my email didn't get lost in the masses, and have still not received a reply, a shipping notice, or my order. Just a heads up to anyone else waiting.

currently 24 hours after we get the notice

LOL
I thought it was 24 hrs ??????

Got mine today, was looking for the ammo mainly but couldn't say no to a 1911 under $150. Not bad for price but it definitely needs some fine tuning, the slide to frame is very rough, almost a grind. It's amazing Norc/Canam can supply such low cost pistols and if your looking for a project gun or something to abuse look no further.

Looks FANTASTIC! What's your plan to stop it from rusting? Just keep a coat of oil on it? How much time all in to get to this point?
