so on canada ammo there are dominion arms 1887s. anyone have any experience? i love the shotgun and want one but i herd bad things about the norincos and im hoping these are diffrent

Canada Ammo (and a few other stores, including some other site sponsors) have the T2 edition of the 1887: that has the barrel snipped to the minimum (470mm), and the butt cut off to about the minimum Over-All Length (660mm). This is done, of course, to mimic the nifty gun that the Terminator used one-handed while riding a motorcycle in the T2 film.

Is that the one you love, or would you prefer a more traditional one for cowboy style? The stubby grip on the shorty isn't very pleasant for multiple shots, and you probably won't have much success spinning it on the lever like Arnie did (but you can try).

Right now I only know of Lever Arms having original 1887 clones in stock; anywhere else? I think the importer had a bunch of these and decided they'd sell faster as the movie gun, so they were converted here rather than in China; might not be many left in full length.

I own the original Norinco, and have tried the shorty. Cleaning up is the usual for any Norc: dis-assemble and remove the grease, cycle some rounds and see if they hang up, maybe need to file/polish some rough edges and the chamber. If you're going to rely on it for CAS competition, you'll want to be thorough. Otherwise just use it a lot and it'll wear itself in, probably.

personaly i hate the chopped stock but im willing to deal with it until i find a replacement the main selling point is the short barrel. as far as i know i cant take the full length version on leverarms and chop it myself it needs to be done at the factory.

you can cut it just not below 18" is go with 19" to leave room for clean up and maybe crowning

my brother and i went halfers on one, its the cowbow 1887 model with the butt stock and 22" barrel and we are verry pleased wth it. we have had norincos witch have needed sone work but this one seems to be verry good. i was surprised.
