Well I just got an e-mail from my PH in the Congo telling me all my capes spoiled................they have offered to replace them OR I can go back and rehunt all the species for free, and hopefully add a sitatunga and buff. What should I do? What would you guys do?..............DDDUUUHHHH

I'm looking at airline schedules as I type this, couple quick arrangements and I'm off, back to the Congo for another adventure. :rockOn::rockOn::cool:

even not for free pretty sure you already to go there again ... just for the trip on the road from the baumiers ...

maybe as a cargo bring your salt and bring the capes with you ... wont cost that much more ....

I ve been there for the capes for some customers and I really suffer with you but now a new plan ...
 
Do you get to hunt for trophies again or just for capes for each species that spoiled? What happens if you shoot a bigger trophy the second time around? In that case you will still be short one cape for the first trophy!

Going back for a re-hunt is first class customer service. I'd be gone just as soon as I could clear customs.

Unfortunately, things like capes spoiling happen. Shrug it off and carry on !

Lion is fine it's just the Congo animals, the 3 duikers and the bongo............So what do you guys think life mount cape for the bongo this time??

hawk-i......you describe my pain exactly..........my understanding is a complete do over and if I get bigger, well good for me and if I don't I can take the good cape and biggest horns.......might bring all the horns and Euro them....2 blue duiker capes are no problem, they are virtually unlimited quota, the yellow back I would like a bigger one anyway and the Peters duiker well, whatever. I would upgrade the Peters duiker to a sitatunga in a heart beat.
 
Doug, have you ever considered doing something a bit crazy for this hunt? Like having an 8 bore built on a Hopkins & Allen underhammer action and use patched round balls to collect the big game of Congo... :)
