I've always thought of LMT as one of the top tier manufacturers of AR15.

Today I am quite disappointed.

I've been using my LMT Defender 2000 10.5 for more than a year now, I've always notice that the upper receiver is about half a millimeter off to the right. Just enough to make you notice the edge when you run your fingers outside of the receiver, I didn't give it much thoughts until today when I attached a new Daniel Defense upper onto my LMT lower and noticed how it mates up perfectly. I looked at my LMT upper carefully again, and it seemed like all the internal channels were also drilled off centered.

I have to say though, the gun itself had been 100% flawless through excess of 3000 rounds. However, from a cosmetic standpoint, it is a big error to me.

Pics up soon.

Anyone have similar issues?

What you have there is a rare collector item, kind of like the upside down Jenny airmail stamp, I would hold on to it, the value can only go up from here

Hmm. Usually my sarcasm radar is pretty sensitive and accurate. But this time I have no idea ;)

Pic or it didn't happen. I heard on CGN that the AR15 is an unreliable piece of kit, that fails if you eat crackers over the gun. The fact that yours has worked for whopping 3000 rounds is suspect.

Ok, enough silly. If it shoots well, try to be happy. I know I couldn't, but I'm a hang wringing idiot about stuff like that. Crooked, asymetrical, rust, bent- those things jump out at me and annoy me. They happen at all price points, with all types of items. I once had my guys pull a new corvette apart, because I couldn't believe how poorly constructed and assembled the car was. I was certain it was mis-assembled by us. Nope. $60,000 POS.
