Hi all, I have a Russian SKS with a broken safety lever. I can buy a Chinese trigger group but I want to know if I'll have to make any modifications before I do. Anyone have any experience doing this? Could I drift out the retaining pin on the safety lever and just swap out the part so the serial # on the Russian still matches?
Thanks for any info.

I'm not really sure how you will be able to remove the trigger group since the safety has to be on in order to remove it

What year is your SKS?

It's a '54 Tula, there's enough left of the safety that I can move it with a screwdriver to remove the trigger group.
I once put the trigger group of my chinese SKS to one of my russian and worked perfect, most parts interchange perfectly. But since its only your safey lever tha is broke, just replace it with any you can come across.

With the safety engaged, there's a small catch behind the trigger guard that you can press with a punch or a screwdriver and it should fall right out and you can swap it for a new trigger assembly
