I'm selling AR upper.. I thought it would be gone in a week. Is my price out to lunch? Advice please...

Used upper with not a lot of information, M1S barrel, DPMS parts...

I wouldn't pay $650 for it. Clearly others may feel differently but for that money, I'd rather have a Norinco. Nothing personal, but the AR market has become very aware and very brand-conscious. Somebody's franken upper with M1S and DPMS bits isn't worth much to a lot of AR owners anymore.

I kinda agree, 650$ seems a bit much for a plain upper. Especially when you can buy a complete DPMS AR for a bit more than the asking price.

Im pretty surprised this one hasn't sold yet at 600$, seems like a pretty good deal to me correct me if I'm wrong.

How much is the DPMS AR?

yes its a nice upper but For $600 its missing a bcg.so add another 150-200 for that. Also its a target 24" barrel. Specialty for some. I see most people buying 14-16" guns. I guess my price is allright. Thanks for your opinion though.. its of value to me.

AR stuff goes in spurts. Three years ago it use to go in 5 mins....

yes.. i remember that when i got my first AR. Then again there is not that much for sale right now..for cheap. But not to say...they have become cheaper in new. I just dont understand this NORINCO fever. I had my CQ with dildo looking handguard. It shot well but ugly thing. So i thought i would go into north american made. anyways... thank you all for input

I guess it really comes down to what people are looking for. For me I have a preference to 20"+ barrels and being fluted adds that little extra appeal to me not to mention free floating handguard.

Yes i completely agree... well as said its a target set up. If that.s what someone wants that is one to get... mind you i myself might go back to 20' gun if my new 16' turns out to shoot like crap at 100m. cause my old norc was awesome... just ugly.

Just my take but I read the ad as:

upper, made by...somebody
Model 1 Sales barrel
bolt and charging handle from DPMS or possibly someone else
plastic handguards from somebody
railed gas block from somebody
some kind of muzzle device
round count unknown

In exchange, I would like an amount of money not too far off what SFRC charged for brand new Daniel Defense/MOE uppers minus the bolt, or what ArmsEast charges for brand new complete Stag uppers, or Questar is asking for brand new Spike's uppers, any one of which is going to have a better barrel, likely better bolt and charge handle, and it will be brand new.

Sorry man, but that's how it reads to me.

The AR market in this country has changed substantially. I could preorder a 16" Spike's upper for $700. Why would I look at a franken upper with unknown parts and an M1S barrel for remotely similar money? Not trying to give you a hard time but I would say there is a reason why you have had to lower the price repeatedly.

DPMS Ar15 can be bought for $900 brand new.

+1

Sadly OP I think your out to lunch on this one. With the plethora of quality options availble to the consumer, at good prices, I have no idea who would bite on a $650 random upper.

Thank you all for the info. Looks like ARs have come down in price a lot since I looked for parts last. I didn't know these complete rifles are so cheap especially DPMS. I just got a bushmaster for what I thought was a good price of 1250. Have I known that I would have got bnib dpms. But I guess it's always a day of learning.
