Am I out to lunch?

Correct, whole rifle minus sights. Some dealers were as low as 800 for the Dpms oracle

You add $150 + tax to OPs price and you get brand new rifle with complete lower and bcg

An lpk goes for over $100 these days and cheapest bcg available is $130

I'm pretty sure he's referring to a complete rifle as the DPMS Oracle AR15 goes for 850$ from many dealers here.

You may be better off parting it out as just a thought.

If you were to source out the parts individually these are the ballpark prices for new.

Upper - $175
Barrel - $290
BCG -$190
Charging handle - $35
Gas block - $60
Gas Tube - $15
Barrel nut $15

Prices for use items typically I would price it 20-25% less than listed retail price, since barrel and bolt are considered to be consumable items shot count will have huge impact with the price.

Yeah, I'd be thinking:

Barrel 200
Upper 125
Bcg 125
CH. 25
Gas block 40
Gas tube 15
Barrel nut 15

Even parted out you're looking at maybe 500 bucks.

looks like it...
go figure the CQ 311 ar that i got years ago for $450 i sold for $750 10-15 years later. this i picked up a year ago lost value. mind you the Ar i have gotten for $700 couple years ago has kept it. I am tempted to get out of this overglorified AR stuff and get a VZ. just a thought.

Inflation over 15 years helps the value of your CQ311. Plus they seem to be sought after.

My thoughts: 16" Carbine barrels are extremely common. I prefer shorter barrels with a Carbine system, which are also common.
I'm always on the lookout for a new barrel/upper, but I'm looking for everything BUT a 16" carbine.

Hell, I want to get rid of the one I have sometimes, but I don't bother cause I don't think I'd be able to get a reasonable price for it.

How much is the DPMS AR?

yes its a nice upper but For $600 its missing a bcg.so add another 150-200 for that. Also its a target 24" barrel. Specialty for some. I see most people buying 14-16" guns. I guess my price is allright. Thanks for your opinion though.. its of value to me.

Sounds like you can't afford to sell it!

Also, DPMS is so cheap because it appears their parts may be made in China. Heard this from a gun dealer just east of DPMS' headquarters in Minnesota. (Of course I have no proof to back this up, only his word so take this FWIW)
