SIG SSG 3000 - Where can i get it at a reasonable price?

Hello Precision riflemen,

I've got a question regarding the SIG SSG 3000. OL tested it and made a claim that it is the most accurate .308 they've ever tested and easily engages targets at 1000. They were going on about it because of the price, 1499. Now I checked SIG's website and confirmed, 1499 is the MSRP.

The only place i could find in canada that has them is Tactical imports, and they want $4,499....

Anyone know where I could get one of the SSG3000's 24" at their actual price? I mean, I understand the concept of foreign exchange... but $3000 more? come on.

OL Stated the barreled action is made in Germany the stock is american hence the low price. So I'm not sure what the deal is.

Besides, their review is for the 1500 one anyways. Gotta find one!
 
prophet river will import one so will irunguns, you can buy on the U.S. auction sites and from any gun dealer in the U.S. and go through proper export channels, like the guys mentioned and both site sponsors and will have one landed at your door for a reasonable price.

Thanks for the help, I haven't done an import yet. Maybe this is the gun i'll try it out on.

The new one has a cheap plastic stock on it, not the Mcmillan you have pictured. Regardless it will be the best precision rifle out there for the money. At least in the States it will.... I'm sure our dealers up here will mark it up ( gouge) signifigantly.
 
Does anyone know if its possible to import yourself, ie buy in the states and walk it across the boarder? I'm sure it's quite complicated, but where would i find that info?

That is not possible for you to do.... you can do your own paperwork but still require a US exporter...

I just looked at Wise Wildlife Solutions Inc. website and they have the same rifle pictured as above for $1399.00 U.S.. What the........? Tactical Imports carries them here in Canada for $3,000.00 more. Something must be wrong here. Tactical Imports should reply to this thread and give us the news on what the heck is going on.

TI's listing says it's made by SIG Germany. I'd guess that's why.
 
I would blame the Canadian 'sellers' less, and consider the Canadian importer more. These rifles used to be a great deal about 10yrs ago when you could get them shipped as a package with a scope, not so much now.
As for the new stocks, besides being fugly they lack the old ones good looks, and UIT rail. Still, you could buy one from the US and a Mcmillian stock for less than they are here.
 
Look for a sig sauer hunter target 308 rifle. They didn't make many of them, but they have the heavy barrel and were used for tactical at one time. I have one, and it is a great rifle.
 
We had one of those at our local Sig Day last weekend. As far as I know, they are available to order. Give sponsor The Gun Dealer a call and ask for Justin.
 
I had the chance to shoot one topped with an S&B 5-25 power scope at the "SIG day" at my local range. The bolt is very smooth, the magazine feeds very nicely, the trigger is crisp but not to my liking (hard to explain but the trigger pivots too much), BUT the stock is pretty plastic craptastic. I've gotta say, for the money you end up a much nicer rifle if you buy a T3 Sporter. Now with the McMillan stock it would be a different story but then the price goes way up.
