My friend purchased a Norinco from Canada Ammo... Brought it to the range and the gun wouldn't extract any brass. Anybody have this gun and experience the same problem??? He has shot the gun approx. 100 rounds now and every round you have to rack the slide and sometimes that don't even release the brass?

First off someone is going to get annoyed mentioning the stores name.
Considered in poor taste if they have not had the opportunity to correct the problem.
Has your buddy cleaned the chamber before firing this gun?
Has your buddy cleaned it now that it has been brought home?
Have you called the guys at CA and asked them what to look for?
Does the bolt slide open and stay open or does it cycle and close on the stuck brass?
Clean the gun and when you think it is clean (chamber) clean it again.
Also check the springs to see if they are broken while you or he is at cleaning the gun.
Is the extractor attached to the bolt?
Have I offered enough areas to look into?
Might wanna check with a gunsmith after checking all that I have mentioned.

How is trouble shooting a problem with the product purchased in bad taste??? He is not saying anything bad about CA. Just asking if anyone else is have a similar issue.

I agree. It's an honest question, without bad mouthing the dealer. But on the other, the name could have been withheld.

My advice to you would be to ensure the pistol was cleaned and oiled before use. If you still have problems contact CA. They have said all along that they will exchange any pistol that is faulty from this deal.
I know mine had lots of cleaning required. maybe you still had some dried grease in there that requires a little more cleaning. Mine has worked flawless at the range with about 200 rounds fired so far. Otherwise then yes I would contact CA could be a bad extractor

How is dropping the name of the store able to trouble shoot the guys problem?
Did the Gun Owner call the store and ask for advice on what to look for?
So, what did you offer to assist the Norinco 1911's owner to get his gun to function
correctly??

Last two voice mails & emails I left CA never got a reply! So would that mean I can't ask for help online? I guess you would say NO!

Canada Ammo brought all this on themselves when they stopped answering their phones, and made their open thread the only way to get a partial/unfocused response to questions.
If they are not answering phones then people will have only access to members of this thread who bought a similar unit for a source of information ..
When things get normal at Canada Ammo then this will not happen .. Will take a bit of time to get people into calling first again .. But they have to open up their lines first.

There was nothing wrong said about CA in my eyes, they are a good company and people will still continue to deal with them because they know this already. You need to relax, the guys asking for help, and there is nothing wrong with that. Don't have to be that sensitive if he mentioned the product came from CA, these 1911' are selling dime a dozen, there are bound to be a few with problems, this is expected and everyone knows this stuff happens. No need for crucifixions here

my norc commander had the same problem when I first bought it. the problem with the norcs is the same reason they are priced so cheap. no one at the factory had taken the time to fit and finish them. they are usually cut with dull tooling hence the reason you see all the tool marks for the machining. the fix go out and buy some 600 1000 and 2000 grit sand paper and some sort of sanding block. polish your frame and slide. just the areas that the slide touches the frame. booom problem solved. after I did this I ran the gun to failure at 1000 rounds or so with out a cleaning.

This is a failure to extract - so this may sound silly, but check your extractor tension. A little thing like no extractor tension can ruin a perfectly good day shooting. If you go to youtube and search 1911 extractor tension, I'm pretty sure you'll find the answer. It doesn't require tools, or sandpaper, or a degree in engineering and you won't have to refinish the gun or spend a single cent on it.

I had a similar problem with my norc, although not as bad. I'd get a failure to extract every could mags. I took out the extractor and could see it the edges were not very sharp and the claw was a little misshapen. I bought a new Wilson extractor and installed it. Runs like a dream now. I figured I could have tried to sharpen up the stock extractor but for $30 I didn't bother.

Most 'smiths actually file the extractor to remove the sharp edges, then adjust the tension.

Yeah, you should have said "I purchased this gun through a web site, it is the Norinco 1911 and i got 1000 rounds with it for cheap, but it won't extract"...lol
