Henry Lever .22 or Ruger 10/22?

Love my Henry and my DAR22. The coolest thing about the Henry is the fact that it works with shorts. Throw some CB's in there, and be amazed.

I like the 3 Henry's and 2 Rugers I have but as others have said, two different animals.
The Rugers ( a 10/22 and a tricked out SR22 ) are a blast for blasting away but the Henry's, ah you feel like you are an old cowboy walking through the woods. Nothing beats a Henry for that "old time feeling".

I have many of both... Get the Henry... And more specifically the Frontier (H001T)... It is a really fine shooting rifle with great heft and feel. I have all my Henry's outfitted with Skinner peeps and Lyman AUG17 globe sights... The Lee Shaver inserts for the Lyman globe are the best I have come across. I DO love my Ruger 10/22 platforms (I say "platforms" because they don't actually have any Ruger parts)... But as fun as they are to shoot, for pure shooting enjoyment the Henry lever's have them beat.

I have both and leaning towards the Henry. While the 10/22's are fun to tinker with and shoot, I am liking the simplicity of the Henry. When I go to the range, I only have to bring it and some ammo. For my 10/22, I bring along some mags and a loader as well.

For hunting and target shooting I'd get the Ruger, I think it will serve your purpose better overall. Although the Henry is a nice gun as well.

Lol, he already made up his mind on page1. But the 10/22 is good too, I like mine with the archangel Nomad stock. Makes it look like a suppressed H&K G36.

I will get the Henry. I spent an hour or so watching videos on Youtube of the Henry. I really like it.

Thanks all. I'll post some pics once it arrives!

I just detailed cleaned my Henry after 5 years and prolly 4000rds... Mostly because I never knew how to take it apart. I love mine and I would get another one in the future. Have fun with yours..

Getting either of these next week. Can't really make up my mind. Not interested in modding at all.

Perhaps a scope... Generally prefer iron sights. I do have a Bushnell Trophy red dot sitting around though.

Gentlemen, please share your thoughts and experiences.

Gotta be honest, kinda leaning towards the Henry.

Lean all the way , I won't talk you out of it..

My suggestion was gong to be Henry, Henry and Henry. But you have aready made up your mind and hopefully bought one by now. Great rifles out of the box. And THE BEST customer service in the world.
