Hello fellow gun nutz,

I recently wanted to change the stock follower on my new 500 thunder ranch but I did not have the means or the time due to being switched on to night shifts. So a friend of my offered to do it for me.... I then got a phone call from him telling my he damaged the mag tube by applying to much pressure while attempting to remove it and now the follower won't even move back far enough to allow even one round to fit. Turns out he dented it.

So my question to y'all is this: how do I remove the tube? And where on earth can I get a replacement? I contacted the site sponser I bought it from and I was informed that mossberg is crazy busy shipping complete guns only and that spare parts are very hard to come by.

Just so you know it is the type of tube that had the threaded end nearest the barrel that accepts a bolt through the lug on the bottom of the barrel. 5 round tube I believe.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Laker

lol, i just did the same thing.
what i did was filed and sanded the mag tube and bent in back in as best as possible.
it now works.
if i were you i would try that first before spending more money.
lesson learned on my part.

I still don't know how to remove it from the receiver?? I tried using some muscles but that sucker won't budge! I'm far to weary to clamp it in a bench vise for fear of doing more damage..

Heat gun is needed since it is locktited to the receiver....contact grechs outdoors in Ontario for a tube replacement

Also...the tube should be reversable if that's an option, depends on the location of the dent

Awesome, thanks man! Ill try that tmrw and report back.

The dent is about 1" from the threads on the side of the tube.

Thank you ONAGOTH, I got my new tube from John at grech outdoors, and heating up the recover worked like a charm. She's back up and running. Many thanks brother.
