In the process of picking up a 700p in 338L. Will my spare VX2 4x12 take the recoil or will it fall apart? Yes I am going to upgrade the glass eventually , this is just a starting point . Thanks

It should be just fine. I had an old vari-x II on a .338 WM for years without issue, then moved it over to a .375 Ruger for a while. Still goin strong. Have since gotten Korth to shorten the parallax and install a fine dot reticle and it now rides on one of my .22 rimfires.

On the slim chance that it breaks, Korth will fix or replace it anyways.

vx2 or vxii, either should do well. Look at the ad on the leupold page where they mount a scope to a jackhammer and let it rip for a while and then mount the scope on a rifle and sight it in.

It will most likely hold up fine but with only 50 MOA internal adjustment on a .338 you will be wanting much more elevation travel out of its replacement. Unless your not shooting too far.
