Finally got the elusive full Manlicher 308 Zastava from Epps...

Johnn, This caption just doesn't come off right............... Got the first full stock from a buddies estate who PASSED AWAY, and now you're going to WORK ON another buddy for his full stock 7X57.........LOL Does this mean if I post a pic of a rifle you really want, I'll get invited to your cabin too? ;)

PS Please take this in the spirit it is intended, no disrespect to your passed away friend intended.

:)No offence taken. As a partial explanation, I guess I'm getting to that age where the group of friends and others I associate with:( is starting to thin out. In the last couple of years, there've been three. Because of my association with them shooting and hunting, I've been offered the opportunity by the familys to acquire some items from the estate. There are much more preferable reasons I'd prefer to obtain firearms but a number of my more recent acquisitions have been primarily for the sentimental value.

The truth be known, the Sako Mannlicher in .270 Win is something I didn't have an urgent need for as I had recently purchased a Husqvarna in .270 from Why not? .However:(, ................ .

Johnn, It was just the wording in your post that my weird sense of humor was tweeked............It is definitely that time in life that we seem to go to about 10 times more funerals than weddings, I hear ya there. Just lost 2 friends in a plane crash last week in Battleford Sask.

Tragic, isn't it? I feel for the wife and two little kids.

:)No harm no foul but in hinde sight:redface:, I do see what you mean. And again, definately not the most favourable set of circumstances for acquiring firearms.

What do you mean?

I mean the zastavas at P@D stood out from thier general inventory, but didnt stand out as being something as pretty as a model 7, in 7mm08, carbine, stainless as I recall, in a laminated full length stock at cabelas. I was interested right up till the point I saw it was a remmy, and 7mm08.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
not pretty sure you ll a model 7 even in 7-08 for the price you can get a real commercial mauser action with a wood full stock .... I doubt that even for one model 7 you don't get at least two fs mauser ...

What about the price? Those little Model Seven MS are usually closing in on $3000 when new!

2000$ for the remmy, which to me is alot for a remmy, though the proportions are nicer (IMHO) than the zastavas.

That is a great price- the cheapest I have seen for a Model Seven MS - but I agree it is a lot of $ for a Remington.

Try this one, this is the one... JP.

It looks different from the ones Tradex are selling. I just bought a 9.3x62 Zavasta Mannlicher stocked one. If you look are the Tradex sight they have images of the rifles.

Looks the same to me, other than the tradex ones have a lighter stain than the pic above.
