Do those take magpul followers as well ?
The CAA AT-15 mags are internally blocked so your stuck with the follower they come with. I have not seen a problem with them.
It is the government bodies we do not trust. They do NOT put anything in black and white to define the parameters of what they will accept, SO we have to cover all the bases and work with the assertion of what if?
A few years ago we sent a lower receiver to the RCMP lab in Ottawa, using duct tape to attach an AR upper to it they managed to get it to fire a primed casing. Despite the fact that if the lab rat had fired a live round rather than just a primed case, the bolt would have caught him in the head a micro second after the hammer struck, they still deemed it restricted.
With this sort of "well this could happen" scenario to contend with we prefer consider the absolutely most outlandish possibility .
might throw my LAR mags on EE and order these... thanks for the heads up...
And the floor plate is thermally welded (with good reason).
Just FYI.
And why would they be glued for good reason?
If you caught my post prior to my adding of the quote from ATRS which is added now that explains the reason. It has to do with import.
Oh and what you meant to say is that the base plate was impossible to remove so you stopped trying..... right?
Feel free to click on the blue double arrow with the ATRS quote. You'll see that the context is Rick explaining why the floorplate of the AT-15 mag was thermally welded.
Just read it. So they had them welded to prevent them being rejected. But they don't know if that would have made them unacceptable. I would think the method of pinning would be more important as these mags would have to be near destroyed to remove the block, as opposed to a riveted 10/20 mag.
Riveted 10/20 pistol mags have been put in for RCMP review in the past and were refused and didn't get a DFAIT import permit. That's why the LAR-15 is a 10 round body, and you don't see any 10/20 riveted, it's been tried.
Needless to say I'm happy to see a pistol mag with a longer body, however ATRS had to get it done.
