Let's see how many folks own & enjoy their full stocked Rossi M92's, Rio Grande's
and Single Shot rifles.

I say FULL STOCKED because Ranch Hand Rossi's have their own huge thread.
Feel free to show off your present or previously owned Rossi centerfires.

Here's my ones....

Top one is .357 magnum RH build-up.
Middle one is .44 magnum 16" trapper.
Bottom is .45 Colt RH build-up.

This one is my first ever centerfire Rossi...an M92 .454 magnum (Now owned by a fellow CGN'er)

Own 3 x Amadeo Rossi M92s, 2 trappers and a carbine.
The old M92s have neither the bolt safety nor the new Taurus hammer lock.
Carbine (20" bbl) - 454 Casull
Trappers (16" bbl) - 357 Mag and 44 Mag.
Also own a Rio Grande 30-30 version and a Rossi Overland SxS 12 gauge shotgun (20" bbl).
A couple of the 92s were rough out of the box but after stripping, deburring + polishing of metal components, lubing with Remoil they are very slick cycling and accurate.
Love those Rossis. A lot of gun for the money.

I'll play along. This is the only one I currently own but it is the 5th that I have purchased. 45 Colt Trapper, haven't got out to shoot her yet but I have a bunch of interesting rounds all loaded up for her everything from light 250's up to 340 monsters running around 1600fps.

Cool Trapper, and the leather shoulder saver/butt pad & cartridge holder combo is a neat touch.
I've only used 250gr. LSWC in my .45 Colt "Baby Carbine" but they shoot well with the loads
I'm using. I'll definitely have to try out some of the 300+ grainers for accuracy testing.:)

Thanks the butt stock cover is a beauty, had it custom made from a nice gentleman down in the states. I had a 20" in 45 Colt and it loved all 3 sizes and didn't recoil to bad. I wondering if I will feel the 4" less barrel when shooting the hotter loaded 340's and the 300 XTP's?

Why yes, you will feel it a fair bit from the bench, but not so bad when standing up.
My 12" baby carbine gets a wee bit un-comfy from the bench, even with my light
250gr. sub-sonic pussy loads. The brass butt plate I made for it tends to hit hard from
the bench.

Ranch Hand in 45 Colt with a PGW stock. I still haven't replaced the sights, but I've managed to hit paper at 100m at Minute-of-Paper:

Still a work in progress, and SHELLSHUCKER's work is something to aspire to.

What kind of accuracy are you guys getting with the short barrel (and short sight radius)?

With stock sights, I sit the bead on the bottom of the buckhorn and get cloverleafs at 10-15 metres so long as I do my part. Ammo didn't matter here.

At 25 metres, the same applied but the groups widened to 2 inches every time. Could just be me as the trigger on my Ranch Hand is pretty good.

At 50-100 metres, I have to bury the front bead a bit into the buckhorns just to hit paper at 4-10" groups depending on the ammo. Leverevolution was the best, as was reloaded .452 FTX bullets (Designed for 454 Casull, so I had to single-shot them) with a light load. 25ogr LRNFP did okay at about 6" at 100 metres, but everything in between did worse (higher loadings with LRNFP or XTP HP's).

Hope that answers your question, but I'm fair sure the others had better results with their loadings. I wouldn't go hunting with mine.

It's a bit of work to get these little carbines to print decent groups at ranges beyond
50yds. or so, due mainly to the short sight radius and the sights that come with the
stock rifle. The standard Ranch Hand sights also shoot way too high.

For my aging eyes, I use the Marbles Bullseye rear sight in conjuntion
with a Marbles .570" height front sight which I file to a fine pin type point for a
finer sight picture.

The Marbles low, Flat Top rear is also a good one for those that like the open
type sight. I use cast boolit loads only in my little blasters and can get nice
groups in the 2" & under range at 75yds. from the bench if I do my part right.

I love these little rifles. They are so much fun to tinker on and a howl to shoot.

Have you tried one with a tang sight?

2" at 25 yards and up to 10" at 100? I wouldn't hunt with that either! That is really quite poor. Hunting quality revolvers do better than that by a fair margin.

This is definitely just a fun gun for me. I really, really have to work the sights, which should add more fun. To be honest, I was quite happy getting it out to 100.
