I can't comment on the .260 Cal, but can on the rifle (if it is the Predator Max 1 your inquiring about)
I bought a Savage Pred Max 1 in 22-250 off the EE last year w/only a box through it. Certainly shoots like a typical Savage with a 10 shot grouping @ 100 yrds easily into 1" or less, if i do my part. Cycling the bolt is not as buttery smooth as my Tikka T3 in .204R, but really wasn't at time of purchase and still isn't a concern on my end.
The Accu-Stock & Accu-Trigger are nice features, however I'm not convinced the Accu-Stock is the be-all & end-all it's touted as. Only reason I say that is I have a Savage Predator 10 in .243Win without the Accu-Stock and it shoots equally as nice, but it is finicky on Gr range, which is more the odd twist rate Savage chose than anything.
With a 6.5-24x50 and a Harris mounted, it certainly isn't a light rig by any means. Thankfully it's a stand gun and i don't need to carry it for long periods. I'm going to hazard a guess at somewhere around 10+ lbs. however it is a work horse in the field and stands up well in the winter months. Something that was high on my criteria for a main first 'Yote rig. I had thought about selling/trading it in for the same model in either .243 Win or 6.5M Creedmore, but still yet undecided there.
Another CGN'er "sobo4303" has the same model in .243Win. I don't think I've ever seen him post anything negative about his here or over on the predhuntcan forum. Hopefully he'll chime in and offer a second perspective.
Overall i don't think you can go wrong with this model. Certainly not the prettiest, but it gets the job done out of the box very well.
