The 30-30 club, are you in?

Just about to add a 2nd 30-30 to the inventory.
I bought a nice Marlin on here, for a reasonable price.
I like the 30-30, it has it's place, and I can put a low powered scope on the Marlin easily. [old, eyes, lol]
Cheers, Eagleye.

I have one Marlin 30-30 1968

I have one, a Savage model 170B pump. My dad carried it in his highway patrol car. Not particularly rare or valuable, but it's an oddity and sentimental value beyond any dollar value.

Here's mine. Got it for $300.00 from a fellow CGN'r, put an XS Sights ScOUT RAIL and a Bushnell Trphy Red Dot on it and it only took me 6 shots to sight it in. Ammo was ,,, get this. Federal blue box 125gr jacketed hollowpoints. I won't post pics of groups because it would probably cause mass hysteria and my inbox would be inundated with offers to buy. Its not for sale. Ever.

Have had so far, one pre 64 Win.
one post 64 Win.
two post 64 Win. Trappers
one Marlin 336 pre Remlin
I love the history and profile of the Win 94,s but the only one I really wish I would of kept is the Marlin. Sold it to a friend to fund something else and sadly now it,s a rusty memory.

Bought a Win94 off a hunting buddy from work a few months back. He was retiring, selling his place in London, On. and moving to his cottage as his year round residence in Bayfield On. He was down sizeing and didn't use it, not even after he bought it years ago. Not sure how old it is. Maybe 30 yrs plus. Shoots nice. It has been used for hunting by some of his other family members (not often) with great success. Can't wait to try it on a deer hunt myself. I might investigate to see how old it is. I guess I could ask my buddy next I see him. I think he bought it new in the day.

Currently testing different ammo in it to see which shoots the best and having a great time! :D

Had a Marlin, model 336 20 years ago. It was about 5 yrs old when I bought it from a friend. Rarely used, maybe 30 rds through it. I sold it after 5 yrs myself. Never used it more that twice for some target practice at the range. It was sweet. Kickin myself for selling it!

I'm thinking of joining the 30/30 club, after noticing the price of factory ammo.
It's gotta be the least expensive of all big game catridges.
Plus, shooting a lever action, makes me feel like a cowboy.

The 32spcl is close enough, seeing as you can fire 30-30 in it. Just not very accurately. There were a few years when shooters who didn't handload had a hard time finding ammo. It seems some gun guru had predicted it's demise.

For many years, factory 222 Remington & 30-30 ammo were pretty much neck & neck for price.
Averaging $7-$10 for a box of twenty for quite a long period of time IMO.
