US 869 in 338 LM with 300Gr projectiles.

This is probably no help you Kelly, but US 869 is The only powder I will use in my 338 Lapua Imp. with the 300 gr. Sierra Matchking.
It burns clean in my gun and is very consistent all year round, however we do not get very cold or really hot temperature - wise.
 
Kelly, it's not a bad powder. I've used it in my 338 with 300 SMK's with good success.

Part of the reason I switched to H1000 is because of the amount of powder you go through with US869. I was running 103gr as compared to 85.5gr to get the same velocity. That and I prefer extruded powders over ball. Other than that, I found it consistent.

I'm sure that doesn't help very much...

With either powder, which seemed to be closest to a full case?

I used US 869 when I first went to a 338LM, both 250 and 300gn Match King/Scenar. I found it to be very dirty (unburned particles hitting me through the brake at the firing position) and temp sensitive, however I could push it to X+++... and not worry about pressure signs using a Nesika action. The only powder I have found to match velocity (and exceed) with 300gn Scenars is VV N570. Accuracy was significantly better with the VV powder to boot.

I used my remaining US 869 in a 12.7x99 rifle pushing 750gn projectiles. It is a slow powder.
