What Rifle Are You Using for the 2013 Hunting Season

Hey 'Looky, what about the sweet little 95 full stock, ain't ya kill something with that? If you're not gonna go out and kill something with it you might as well just sell it to me, at least in my vault it will have lots of company with all the other "professional dust collectors" ;)

I am supposed to have shoulder surgery in August so depending on how fast I heal it will either be my M77 RSI in 250-3000 or my M70 in 22-250 stoked with 60 grain Partitions for everything.

It was mentioned in my tread up top.
The bragg'in lumber stick.
You tag along long enough and yu'll lern looky............Laugh2
Need to take the gal out, hopefully real soon with the gunpowder feller you
know about.
He wishes to do a dare'in duel shoot out. Four Marlins are going to have a go at it.
My baby terdy turdy, the teenage gal in 32 win and H's 35 and the big brute 44 mag.
That 44 is a pleasure to shoot and accurate too.
I hope we can pull this off shortly.
The full wood is coming along for the ride. I managed to get handed to me an old Scopechief
VI in 3-9x40AO with the BDC. Has some sort of range finding abilities I know nada about.
Nice clear old scope that hopefully will do me eyes some justice.
Need to verify my gunsmithing abilities too. H will give me the what for of the action and how
she works.
Will keep yu'all posted on the results..............

Depends where I'm hanging my hat. If I'm still up here it'll be either the Stevens 30-06 or the 360 Wagner. If I'm down South then I'll give my Pre-64 300 H&H the call up. Or maybe I'll try out the 25-06 that I had built 12 years ago and have never taken hunting.

Short range - Ruger 77/44

I hope that this doesn't sound to mundane but I'm starting to get that itch a little for the upcoming hunting season. The draw results will be available within the next couple of weeks and I'm hoping to jump for joy if I receive the mule deer buck special license. Regardless, the firearm I'm using for everything is my newly purchased Ruger #1 chambered in the 300 H&H. A couple more sessions of load development and it will be ready. What have you guys decided on?

Likely one of my 30-06's again, not sure which will get the nod. Unfortunately none of them are dressed as nicely as the wood on your No. 1 - very nice looking Ruger!

I'll be using the RFB again this season... It is my perfect bush gun. Hangs nice on a single point sling, is plenty accurate, incredibly compact, and is sure to cause more weird looks, and even more questions...one guy asked me last year why I needed a "machine gun" to shoot a deer... Was quite funny. Once I explained the similarity to his BAR (5 shot, semi-auto, non restriced, long barrel) he asked where to get one...

Thanks! The gun will be dressed-up a little more this week. I should receive in the mail a custom leather butt cover and sling made by a person/business from Idaho. Can't wait!

Not gonna use a rifle this year! Big game will be hunted with my bow. I've shot over 2000 arrows since January I am dialed in and ready to go!

Winchester 100 in .308. Gotta remember to send away for the firing pin recall this year! For Blackpowder my battered old CVA Eclipse that has dropped more deer than all of my other rifles combined.

Ruger M77 Tang Safety in 250 Savage, if the reload bench is ready after this move. Otherwise a Ruger No 1 on 303. I WISH I had a No 1 in 300 H+H
Clint

Partridge = 9mm Thureon Defense, 16 gauge Wingmaster.
Moose = BRNO ZG47 in 30-06, Rossi M92 in .454 Casull.
Deer = I dunno...anyone in ontario want to invite me deer hunting.....?

Best you get yer arse in gear as it is not an overnight deal.
I did one years ago and Winchester wanted the old firing pin and serial number before they sent me
a new one.
It took a bit of time, not an overnight delay.
Good luck and let us know how long it took you.
Things may have changed?????????

Deer - Santa Barbara M1000 chambered in 7x57. I'm not sure if I am going with my 3-9 or my 1.5-4.5 on this one yet.

Flying things - Winchester SX3 chambered in 20 gauge.

I also have a Winchester 72 and Ruger 10/22 chambered in 22 LR for Grouse on the ground.
