Any idea where the 97NSR is next weekend?

Still no type 97 available? Thought they were to be in country for early summer?

Think there's a demo model going around gun shops in hopes of building interest. I know i'd like to get my hands on it before dropping 1k$ on a pre-order. Seems like a neat gun.

I'm not overly interested on them but its been almost a year since their arrival for the second time was announced. This waiting is getting old. Especially for those who ordered or want one.

a year is a pretty short wait time from announcement to arrival for most guns in Canada from what ive seen.

What's pathetic is that such a wait is acceptable. Its not. Its been said before and I will say it again. Until the product is in country the vendors need to keep their mouths shut. Jerking people around for years is what turns many off.

Doesn't work either way. Look at the dealer forums. If a new product is announced by the manufacturer and a dealer doesn't say anything then the dealers get bombarded with posts asking if the dealers can get it and then customers get pissed off if there's no reply. If dealers do post something then there's people that are going to keep asking when its going to be released and get pissed off cause they're impatient and the product they want didn't arrive right after it was announced by the manufacturer. dealers lose either way.

With the Type 97 I highly doubt the manufacturer (norinco) would have posted up anything here. Now North Sylva could have kept it quiet, and maybe the dealers, but then again the only way two people can keep a secret is for the first not to tell the second.

And what better way to judge potential sales than by letting information leak.

Judging sales with information about a new product is one thing. Judging potential sales before an frt is issued and a definitive arrival date is another. The constant date changes smells of bad business. Over estimating the arrival is better than under estimating.

Agree completely. They build up a bunch of hype, start a bunch of stupid waiting lists that many people put their name on multiple lists hoping to get one faster which creates a false demand since most will cancel the rest after they get theirs.
They should keep their mouths shut at least until there is an FRT issued and a definite delivery date, then once they are in stock they should sell them to whoever walks through the front door with the money.
