Turkey hunting Quebec

Ok thanks Snowboy. Gonna get in contact with the ministry this week to find out for sure. Hopefully I'll be able to get out this fall but I've got a feeling I'll have to to wait until next year to take the test and get a license. Either way I'm getting my small game license so I'll still be able to do some hunting in my home province maybe even get a deer tag.

You can buy the turkey license with no attestation for turkey. Trouble starts when you shoot one and register it as that is when you need the attestation. Lots of guys have got caught up that way.

At present non residents can not hunt turkeys in Quebec. Reason being is most non residents french language skills are not proficient enough to call turkeys. Under Quebec's bill 101 french language laws all turkeys must speak French.
Laugh2Laugh2 So rather than call them in you use poutine.....:D:D:D:D

Not at all Magellann even anglophones can't resist a properly prepared poutine but either way turkeys can't be baited. The best way to call in a uni-lingual French turkey is to shout aloud(in French of course)hey tabernac look at that huge sign and it's in English only!

On a more serious note contacted Ontario MNR and was told I needed the Ontario specific attestation and may be able to challenge the exam but that's not for sure. The lady on the phone really didn't seem too sure of herself. Any Quebec hunters with our approved attestation know if it can be used in order to buy a license and hunt turkey in Ontario?

I'm screwed haha Anyways there's still lots of other game to hunt both at home and in Ontario. At least now I know I've got to sign up in about six months :p

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll find a lot of Turkeys in Ontario (to hunt) ..:)

No doubt. I've seen as many as two dozen at a time in the fields on my grandparents property so shouldn't have a problem filling any tags I get.

HeEhEHEHE now that's funny !

Of course was meant as a joke but it's getting less funny all the time. Heard the other day a super market employee was reprimanded for simply speaking English to her friend on break. Pretty sad when there's all this huffing and puffing around about language laws and then you see a huge sign in a Jean Coutu say "...Super Look" because look is a genuine French word give me friggin break. Stuff that's been happening seems rather reminiscent of prewar Nazi Germany. What's next I wonder???
