Simply because the price from the factory is that much higher.

One explanation is also because the 8.5" barreled ones don't have a standard length mag tube.
Setting up the tooling and the jigs to braze the barrel band/lug in a non standard production is reflected in the price.
As for cutting barrel length, this process does not usually affect pricing as much or at all.

Also note how the mag feds are 50$ more than the regular Grizzlys and this one isn't 50$ more than the non mag feds 8.5"ers...Thank you CanAm for that!

Those rails are nasty, I hope its just a simple bead sight!!! but I do hope it comes with the pistol grip like the tube fed ones did!
